The difference being that Nadine Smith, a gentle, brilliant, calm person of conviction and integrity works tirelessly for equality of ALL. So for her it makes perfect sense to pair draconian Florida with it's nonexistent equality. A quixotic and hopefully wildly successful mission.

Not towards thoughts of rabid support of and IMPROVING the death penalty. That's just .... SICK. Improving the death penalty? You only have to die with your best suit on. Such an improvement. What an ASS. We'll use silver bullets. You can carry flowers. The executioners can have silk hoods. We'll have a band. Town square. Cravats. Cumberbunds. No, honest we'll give YOU a full shot of wattage. That will improve things. We'll stick you full of the finest poison. That's gonna make it better. What an ASS. Oh, I said that. That bothered me so much that I was taking a bath the next morning and said, "What THE HELL kinda progressive, liberal Democrat supports and thinks we should perform the death penalty with more decorum and improvement????" The boyfriend: "NO Democrat." Ta DA .....

This takes B A L L S

It's one thing to drone on and on and on about the HIGHLY questionable innocence of
sami Al Arian who (BY THE WAY) PLEADED GUILTY and admitted to knowledge of the PLJ and also the violence and ALSO supporting them and talking in code with them AND sending them money after the fact. He lied twice in federal documents about same. To a reporter. On record. TWICE.
Like his local counterpart over at CAIR, he's AT LEAST a major fucking liar who admitted to knowledge of violence of an organization that he sent money to AND received money from. Make no bones. This is NOT fucking a shove over. This is BOMBINGS, MURDERS, HIJACKINGS.

But what really set me off other than the lies was that some asshole had the NUTS to title his movie claiming frame-up in a similar fashion to the movie US vs John Lennon who as you may know is the globally beloved icon of peace, love and humanity, John Lennon. And, also dead. So fuck you to you. Asshole.

Never in the farthest reach of any dark imagination was sami al arian an icon of peace and justice, brother. He was a frigging engineering professor with an islamic think tank on the side. Members of which were also deported.

No insult to my many islamic and muslim friends. And, I know none is taken. And no offense to his family who has surely suffered through his incarceration. But, baby he is NO john lennon. A different title would have been much more appropriate.

This would be about akin to making a movie about my dog and titling it lassie. Give me a fucking break.

That's my review. You go watch that shit if you want to. LOL ! And, it might be a good movie. Maybe we can take Gone with the Wind and rename it Hurricane Katrina. You get where I'm at with this?I t took balls to do this. Even if you believe he was framed or is innocent, it took balls. No comparison to these two men. Obvious ripoff of the fame.




Now this, on the other hand, is THE movie of an original, beloved, murdered peace icon of (almost) our time.



The US went after John Lennon for directly the opposite reasons. He represented peace, unity, brotherhood. The damn near direct opposite of the divisiveness embraced by the supporters of the other. I'm all for fairness and all for 'innocent until proven guilty' ... hell, I even am KNOWING that most of law enforcement are lying pricks who stalk innocent people. BUT, the guy pleaded guilty to some heinous stuff and you can bet if you got arrested tomorrow your family would go through the same shit as this family only with a lot less fanfare. Get it????

Oh, one final thought: I am a firm advocate for free speech, so of course< I advocate for the viewing and creation of this 'film'. But, I think it might be interesting to determine the funding base.
When I saw the John Lennon film I was also skeptical because I felt it was Yoko's side of things. I had never seen so many loving scenes between he and Yoko. So --- the importance of media ingestion is to maintain your equilibrium, check the backing and judge with your own level head.

I might even like the movie. But, I'll never see it. I completely disapprove the obvious ripoff of an icon.

In Outrageous Decision Three Days before Trial, U.S. Court drops all charges against terrorist Luis Posada

Demonstrations Friday, May 11 in cities across U.S., Canada and other countries will demand:EXTRADITE POSADA TO VENEZUELA NOW! FREE THE CUBAN FIVE!
On May 8, Judge Kathleen Cardone dismissed all seven charges of violating U.S. immigration laws against confessed right-wing terrorist Luis Posada Carriles. The immigration charges were relatively minor compared to Posada’s real crimes, which include the bombing of a Cuban airliner in 1976, in which all 73 people aboard were killed, and the 1997 bombing of tourist hotels in Havana, Cuba. One person was killed and many others injured.

Posada's release comes as a refusal of the Bush adminstration and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to formally designate Posada a terrorist in these proceedings. "International law declares terrorists as criminals who can be extradited, but Washington is protecting Posada, a former C.I.A. agent," says Natali Fani of the Information Office of Venezuela, where he is still wanted on 73 counts of first-degree murder.

On Friday, May 11, the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition is sponsoring a major protest in El Paso, Texas, where Posada had been scheduled to go on trial, and along with other organizations in U.S. cities including New York, Washington DC, Boston, Philadelphia, Louisville, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and elsewhere. A letter-writing campaign on A.N.S.W.E.R.’s national website has sent 60,000 letters - 10,000 in just the last few weeks -- to members of Congress calling on them to demand of the Bush administration that Posada be extradited, or tried in the United States for the 1976 Cubana Airlines plane bombing (that originated from Venezuela), in accordance with the Montreal Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Civil Aviation, 1971.
While pretending to wage a “war on terrorism,” the Bush administration has protected this mass murderer. The U.S. government has refused to extradite Posada to Venezuela to stand trial for his crimes, despite the fact that a legally-binding extradition treaty between the U.S. and Venezuela has been in effect for 85 years.
While Posada and his terrorist counterparts like Orlando Bosch today walk free in Miami, the Cuban Five remain locked in U.S. prisons, three of them serving life sentences. Their “crime” was coming here in an attempt to stop terrorist attacks emanating from the U.S. against their country by Posada, Bosch and their fellow terrorists.

Beating the Drum

Someone I respect reminded me of a thought that has occurred to me over and over again lately.

This is NOT a Democratic war. This is a BUSH war. A GOP war.

Any attempts for him to foist this off on the Democrats or to blame the Democrats is the usual lies and spin from the Bush regime.

And, DON'T forget Bush is the one who just VETOED (his FIRST veto) the bill funding the troops because it stipulated that there would be a withdrawal and a time limit.

WHY?

Because that SOB wants endless war.

Fuck him.

And fuck him again for trying to foist it off on the Democrats.
