This is a lovely, warm, inspiring and charming story of old Florida. At her finest. Not.

I am always horrified to read that someone like a paramedic whom one would think is responsible and COMMITTED to lifesaving would not and IS NOT !!! Legally, they have no responsibility to save you. It ain't even IN their job description, honey.

As well, the police (as noted in New Orleans) are absolutely NOT responsible for your protection. Oh no. Ah ah.

I will say that the commentors restored my faith in humanity.

The paramedics performed as expected (dismally) with a surprise FINE showing from bigdaddydivemaster (a Tampa Fire Rescue worker)

Who reassures me that there ARE some who are not scum in the Tampa Fire Dept and who either do NOT participate in stalking fellow citizens but also would not really approve.

They can call me names all they want ... BUT in court, that won't be allowed.

What's especially appalling about this is that not only would the 'paramedic' not even find a fucking tree branch to swim out with to the drowning fellow but he STOPPED OTHER PEOPLE from going in the water. Took it upon himself to stop folks from saving a life.

And, of course, his supervisor thinks that is GRAND. To me that should be gross negligence and dereliction of duty. Oh, but, that's right --- he doesn't owe the riffraff public anything other than keeping the deathbox polished as one commentor noticed.

I blogged this previously ....

I loooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeee the idiot who says this decision musta just tore him up. Obviously there is a LOT of fallout because numerous fights have broken out as a result of this unnecessary death (murder)...

Jeepers -- I SMELL DESPERATION

BUT, lately I have noticed they are reduced to some hack FBI (or other acronym) dude thumbing desperately through the index files of 'exciting shit' and here's what they've come UP WITH this time:

Made me sad this morning. Young person I know said ... 'it's all still here' ... ' a whole new year but nothing has changed ....' (pointing out homeless, fall down buildings though he's aware that they are purposely neglected .... etc......)
