As some of you might have guessed, I have become an 'activist' of sorts. I mean, why not? When the statement was made: 'you're either with us or you're against us' ... my side was already chosen through a family history of dedication to our fellow man and civil rights of other human beings. I'm not proud to say I was sleeping at the wheel but to tell you the truth my life was pretty darn easy. And, now -- it's a bit more adventurous. I could never see myself in the company of these sharp-eyed, new people trying to read everyone's gig and how they can 'make' them. So, here I am. By default or however. There's a ton of stuff going on to advocate for ending the war, stopping racism, impeachment of the regime, helping the homeless, keeping us out of iran, the list goes on ....

I'm just going to post some more links as I come across them. I'm not even sure yet what I'm doing but I'll be doing something. As well, I got these cool markers that you can write on your car windows with and send a message all the way you go.

I'm going to write : LOVE EVERYONE. It's the only real rule you need live by. It covers everything else.

Enough is Enough


Next Monday will mark the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq. Across the country, MoveOn members and our allies will join together at candlelight vigils to commemorate this day, honor the sacrifices of our troops, and voice our stronger-than-ever call to bring them home soon and safe.

Hosting a vigil is really easy. All you need to do is pick a time and location for people to gather. We'll provide you with materials, help spread the word about your event and be available to answer any questions you might have.

There are already over 500 vigils planned across the country—some by MoveOn members, and many by our local and national partners in the movement. You can add to this national gathering by hosting a vigil in your neighborhood. Vigils are a powerful way to bring together people from across your community to reflect on the tragedy of this war and communicate both our support and appreciation for our brave troops, as well as the depth of our desire to end this terrible war.

It's also an important time to get together, because Congress is debating the first substantive steps to ending the war. We need to show that the country wants a swift, responsible end to the conflict.

After more than four years of organizing, bringing our troops home and ending the war in Iraq is truly becoming a possibility. Let's gather for what is hopefully our final Iraq war vigil together.
