Some Love for Driveby Blogger

UPDATE:

It didn't escape me that this post from driveby kinda attempted to marginalize good bloggers but ---- I know that Pushing Rope's work speaks for itself and I feel no need to jump on the defensive. Why? I don't care what any of these people think. If people have agendas and other people don't like them, wait until you too are victimized or a hospital or cop murders someone you love ....
And, BELIEVE THIS: My blog has had a tremendous effect. So, if yours isn't, I'm not sure what you are doing wrong.
I've seen my words quoted so many places even I am surprised. Here's the deal: I'd NEVER put my best work online under blogger and/or without copyrighting same. I just come on here and YAK. And, it's a conversation with whomever wants to read and those I know are reading:

Post on that other blog that I don't do linky-love for ( listen seriously) --- I just don't have any desire to add my name to. I've got all I need with what I got ... anyway -- this is from driveby:

No matter how much we'd all like to deny it, blogs are predominantly selfish endeavours. Sure we convince ourselves that we have great ideas and can pass along nuggets of insight to the blogosphere at large, and even influence the world for the greater good, but we're deluding ourselves if we think that our online words are little more than digital shrines to our own egos. That is why I think the lefties have such a hard time with unity. Right-wingers are used to falling in line for what their talking heads claim is the greater good as taught by their leaders, that and the ideology of the right doesn't have a lot of room for originality. On the left however are folks of enormous egos thinking that each one has the answer to it all. By the very nature of liberalism, in it's pure form(not that what we have these days even comes close), it promotes individuality and freedom of thought. I think blogging takes that to extreme. Even the slightest disagreements in doctrine result in a splinter effect. Then the incessant infighting takes over. The more "progressive" a blogger considers him/herself the bigger the ego, and the less well they tend to play with others. Also many of them seem to have their pet(ty) projects keeping their attention. Vox(though calling her progressive is rather befuddling to me) with her blogger catfight. Michael with his Stick fight. Now Stogie with his bruised feelings from being shunned by the Ropers and this hard on he seems to have developed for Seminole Heights. It's become almost as bad as the mainstream news with the tabloid nonsense. Before long there will be no room on the party soapbox and all the lefties are yelling at each other from their own self-heaped pedestals while the righties are marching in step and changing things their way with little real resistance. It's sort of a corollary of my earlier comment a few posts ago pondering how the Net brings people together while fragmenting us at the same time(though I didn't quite sum it up that way in the comment).
Still not sure of the batshit crazy variable yet, though I think it's just a digital expression of the loony notes one finds from the local tinfoil hat brigade.

BTW Vox, would it interest you to know that the Tabernacle has had 14 acres for sale with frontages on Nebraska, Bird and the River for about 3 months now? Pity how those Firmen haven't bought that up to build the casino yet. Don't you know that real criminals don't waste time trying to intimidate people like on TV, they buy them, embroil them in litigation, or eliminate them. I think you might have watched too much Scooby Doo and A-Team. Maybe you should park the Mystery Machine in your yard and foil the gangsters with those pesky kids.

Great Idea, driveby ---- but I settled for the cigarette thin cameras run to the DVR. Daphne would be green with envy ..... Oh and I don't watch TV and you don't know the half of it; most of it will never be mentioned in this venue until the live-blogging starts from Sam Gibbons.

LOL they've had that property for SO LONG NOW that even those not born know about it. This has been going on for 35 years/ 37 years. From way before MY time and probably your time, too.

I like your style but it seems familiar --- anyway, if what I were saying were not true then you should see the video I got today .... and then wonder why they don't try to shut me up ?? Well they are TRYING but they can't legally because I can PROVE what I am saying so instead they use other 'methods'.

Now, who do you suppose the city/county would use to intimidate people but it's own employees?? You seem to know enough so that shouldn't stretch the imagination much.

I also would like to thank you for your funny and interesting commentary. It's what I know --- lots of people are paying attention. That's good.

And, as well, being you are the avid reader of Kate -- then you must remember that she climbed all over me to start her lil blogger catfight. It cracks me up. I'm linked to a NUMBER OF national blogs ... she wants some attention.

I don't have time for her. Sorry. She has glued herself to my blog, ripped off my ideas (which is fine with me but it is polite to GIVE CREDIT, yknow) .... anyway, she's hungry for attention or something ... whatever. She has enough blogger personalities to talk all day. For all I know one of them is YOU. LOL.

We are busy with other things at VOX; it's not our goal to play in the sandbox with one "lady" Robinson. The only reason this got notice was

a. it's funny good.

b. it suited my purpose.

c. we at vox appreciate a good sense of humor !
