Somehow he decided to retire from NewYork and move here a dozen years ago and man he is just running the whole frickin show for us now. He sure has Mayor Pam convinced. I believe that Joe's affinity for faith-based initiatives (as stated REPEATEDLY in this youtube but you really HAVE to see it to believe it) is deeply involved in Metropolitan Ministries. It's extremely difficult to get into the meat of what makes up Metro other than 13 churches got together. I DO know from friends that they have some damned extremely asshole lawyers but don't worry about that: they're here to snap up property in the gambling area and help the homeless. Joe pretends this is something he's not sure is good for the neighborhood but we all know better after watching this video. LOL !!!

I am going to enjoy dragging you through the system. Oh, you retired the wrong guy from the Code Dept. Besides the one you sent out to hook me up with Steve LaBrake there is another one you overlooked in your errrrrrrrrrrr 're-classifying'. LOL !!!!!
The first guy was about 35 and he retired after I tole them to leave me alone because they were doing selective code enforcement and to point that out I also detailed how he was recommending a realtor. NOT JUST ANY REALTOR: Steve LaBrake.

Tell you the truth I didn't find Steve such a bad guy. He's a fall guy for sure but he is very polite, professional and doesn't mind spending tons of time with a client. In fact, he also will help out the ones around you who like to make you feel watched by coming out and turning the sign around when it blocks their view. All around great service.

Chairman Defends West Tampa Agency

TAMPA - The West Tampa Community Development Corp. defended itself in a letter Wednesday to the Tampa City Council.
'Every action that we have taken to expand opportunities for affordable housing and economic development has been fully disclosed and done in cooperation with the city zoning department and other city officials,' Vice Chairman Joe Robinson wrote.
'We were saddened to hear the comments and mischaracterizations about the CDC made at the council meeting last week that were clearly based on inaccurate and incomplete information.'
On June 21, Councilman Charlie Miranda questioned the appropriateness of a deal between developer Ken Morin and the CDC, a nonprofit organization that focuses on affordable housing in West Tampa.
The developer was slated to give the private, nonprofit organization $225,000, which the CDC was to use for affordable housing projects. Morin withdrew the offer after Miranda objected.
Miranda has said he doesn't like the side deals that go on between developers and nonprofit groups.
The Tampa Police Department is looking into whether some neighborhood groups inappropriately asked New York-based developer MetLife for money in exchange for support on a zoning project on Boy Scout Boulevard.
At today's council meeting, Miranda wants the city to eliminate a provision of the zoning code that requires developers pitching projects in the east and West Tampa overlay districts to submit their applications to the community development groups.
In his letter, Robinson asks the council to hold off until board Chairwoman Margaret Fisher returns from an out-of-state trip. 'The letter speaks for itself,' Robinson said Wednesday. 'People are misconstruing things and mingling things and damaging our reputation.'
All week, CDC officials have refused to answer questions about the CDC's federal income tax returns. On Monday, Michael Randolph, the group's economic development director, said he couldn't answer questions until he met with attorneys on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, he referred questions to Fisher, who did not return calls. Reached Wednesday, Fisher said she would not answer questions until she returns to Tampa, probably early next week.
The 2005 income tax forms show that the CDC spent $197,492 on 'consulting.' They also show that the group reported $272,706 in revenue, a significant increase over 2004, when the group reported $44,916 in revenue.
The city says the CDC received grants of about $500,000 starting in 2004 to build low-income homes in West Tampa, but it's difficult to determine from reading the forms whether that money is related to the increased revenue and consulting expenditures in 2005.
The forms list no employees and no salaries paid to anyone.

Dow Jones deal would let Murdoch fire editors: report

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A tentative deal over editorial independence at The Wall Street Journal would give Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. the sole power to hire and fire the newspaper's top editors if it succeeds in buying Dow Jones & Co. Inc., The New York Times said on Thursday.
The report cited people who have been briefed on the agreement and said most members of Dow Jones' controlling Bancroft family have not been told what was in the agreement, which was "a far cry" from the family's recent demands.
Murdoch has bid $5 billion or $60 per share for Dow Jones, and he told Reuters on Wednesday final approval from the Bancrofts would come within two or three weeks, "or not at all."
None of the parties could immediately be reached for comment.
Dow Jones shares closed on Wednesday at $58.56, News Corp. at $21.38, both on the New York Stock Exchange.
