Oprah is also still displaying control-freakishness with RABID CALLING FOR VIEWERS TO SUPPORT THE ADAM WALSH ACT which calls for extra judicial and cruel and unusual punishment for sex offenders. Soon to be ALL offenders from what I'm hearing.

CAUSE what ABOUT Oprah joining forces with that nazi John Walsh to incite a letter-writing campaign to SUPPORT the NAZI adam walsh act does not QUALIFY as .... drum roll ..... INCITING PANIC< OBAMA???????????????

OPRAH YOU STOP INCITING PANIC.

Joe Biden you keep talking common sense ... if Obama thought he chose you for political expediency and then he'd just shut you up that will be a fateful error on his part.

When I came home from Iraq more than three years ago, I believed that our tactics and strategy on the ground would eventually put us in a position to win the war against the insurgency and allow us to start withdrawing the troops. But today, nothing has changed for the better since 2004. It is clear that we need new leadership and a new approach to allow us to start withdrawing our troops.

It is also clear that the most important issue facing our country is to elect a leader who is capable of achieving a political solution in Iraq, quelling the insurgency, and bringing our troops home with honor. I believe that there is only one candidate, either Democrat or Republican, who can accomplish this -- and that leader is Senator Joe Biden.

Never before in our country's history have our veterans had more at stake in a presidential election than we do today. That is why so many veterans who are concerned about the well-being and safety of our brothers and sisters are becoming engaged in the campaign.

In recent weeks, veterans from all across America have written and phoned the Biden campaign to voice their support for his Plan for Iraq, which has been praised by many experts as the best way to bring our troops home in a responsible manner.

Senator Biden's leadership in securing funding for the new Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles that are expected to reduce casualties by two-thirds is deeply appreciated by the families of those who put their lives on the line each and every day.

Quite simply, we have formed Veterans for Biden because Senator Biden has earned our trust and respect. We not only see his dedication to us -- we feel it. We want our fellow veterans and their families to fully understand what is at stake in this election. For example, Senator Biden recently voted to fund our troops in Iraq -- which included money to produce the new MRAP vehicles -- while the other Democratic candidates for President reversed their previous positions and voted 'no.'

As veterans, we understand that our troops in the field are on "real time" -- not some artificial timetable to suit a political agenda. Our troops are worried about what will happen to them and their unit in the next five minutes. They are worried that the next convoy may be their last.

So when some elected officials now running for president cast a "political" vote against a bill that will fund life-saving equipment, we applaud Senator Biden's courage as he stood up and kept his promise to our troops to provide the best equipment available to protect them in battle. As Senator Biden has said several times since casting what some viewed as an unpopular vote, "Some things are worth losing elections over."

Unlike the other candidates, Senator Biden understands that the safety of our troops in the next five minutes on the battlefield is more important than one person's political ambitions. We veterans and the families of those now in harm's way are grateful that Senator Biden has been steadfast in his commitment and will do whatever it takes to protect our loved ones.

Isn't that the kind of leader -- the kind of commander-in-chief -- that our country is yearning for in our next President?

Although the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan dominate the daily headlines, Senator Biden realizes that all individuals who have served our country are equally important. He believes that taking care of all veterans is a sacred promise our country must keep to those who have kept us free.

That's why veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm can be assured that Senator Biden will never forget their service and will fight to see that we always do right by them.

And that's why we not only support Joe Biden, but we believe in him and think it's important that he be elected President in 2008. Never have the stakes been higher for veterans, or for the country we love.
