I'm late today because -- well, I started off last week with the 'another Florida LEO murder" knowing FULL WELL that I would end up being VERY angry about same.
Sure enough .... today Sheriff Nugent had his say .... with the background I have in this experience I'll just say .... he's got a LOT OF FUCKING NERVE speaking to a grieving family like this AND publicizing a family's private thoughts while they are operating at an incapacitated level: STUNNED by the MURDER of their young son.
And, of course, I had today slated to do some research which I did after I read the below and viewed the St Pete Times article as suggested and also made several comments which I'm sure did not follow up the brownshirt comments mostly already there .... I'm about to go check and then RIP THE ARTICLE TO SHREDS for it's blatant SPINNING of a murder...... rife inconsistencies ....

That way, he can make his killer deputies sound good. Why did they not give the name of the third deputy? It's probably another controversial one. Rid this place of the rotten, stinking cops, before someone else gets killed.

And, he would know this; HOW???????? Because he wasn't there!!!!!! because there is ALWAYS a choice!!!!!!!! and I guess if they'd REALLY been friends this 'good man or his son' would have intervened as this victim's life changed?? (my experience with cops is they get the BEST DRUGS)
I'm sick and tired of these pat answers and this negation of the value of a human life. Especially the part where he says the young man's friends 'got into some bad stuff' and Kyle allegedly followed along. Yeah, and he and the murdered boy's family 'go WAY back', BUT he did not mind viciously assaulting the character of their DECEASED SON to assuage his UNNAMED (in sum) deputy of guilt. WTF? Friends like that .........
I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY sick of some BOYS pinning on badges and strutting about like they're all that . I found better examples of manly attributes in first-graders and younger.

Gabelman, who did lawn maintenance work, and Ryan Nugent, now 26 and serving in the Army in Afghanistan, went to school together. They spent nights at each other's homes. And they played on the same Dixie League baseball team, coached by Nugent.(hmmmm wonder how FAIR that WAS??????????) The sheriff's chief deputy, Mike Hensley, went to church with Gabelman's parents.
"His mom and dad are two of the nicest people you could ever meet," Nugent said. "Our hearts just go out to the Gabelmans." (which REALLY makes you wonder when he trashes their kid in the next breath)
The sheriff spoke for the first time publicly about the shooting during an interview with the St. Petersburg Times. (so the first thing he says is to praise not only his own deputies but his SON and then trash a deceased child)
Nugent said his son and Gabelman split ways in high school. "A group of Kyle's friends started doing bad things and he got caught up with it," he said. "The last time they hung out was maybe eighth grade, maybe a couple times in the first year of high school." (score TEN for the shooter, TEN for deputy dawg chief)
Nugent doesn't remember when Gabelman began homeschooling. He knows a few years after his son lost touch, Gabelman began to do drugs and get in trouble with the law. Court records show a DUI charge in 2004 and one for retail theft in 2007. (FUCKING SCORE FIFTY for the shooter, ONE HUNDRED FOR DEPUTY DOG CHIEF -- jesus CHRIST on a fucking pony --- two fucking MISDEMEANOR arrests DOES NOT a career criminal, drug addict MAKE --- besides -- like so many others --- it seems young Kyle Gabelman had become a TARGET for Florida LAW ENFORCEMENT or just had INCREDIBLY BAD LUCK. Maybe he knew something he was not supposed to know due to close contact with a LEO family and ... was a target for years until with the sheriff blamelessly OUT OF TOWN they finally got their chance)
But Gabelman said he was turning his life around. He called Nugent about two weeks ago to inquire about a job in law enforcement. (reaching out if it's even TRUE)
"Kyle said he got better," Nugent said. "I don't think it was true. I think he was in denial." (HEY NUGENT ---- here's a personal FUCK YOU from the Voxers)
Nugent gently told Gabelman that his criminal past would prevent him from getting a job at the Sheriff's Office but encouraged him to apply to a smaller agency. "I didn't want to burst his bubble," he said. (fucking DICK (hah just noticed == his mama named HIM right). Misdemeanor ARRESTS do not impede one's career desires in law enforcement holy SHIT the Tampa Fire Dept would SNAP HIM UP .... )
Arriving back in Hernando County last week, Nugent first met with the two deputies involved in the shooting - Michael Glatfelter, 45, and Christopher Croft, 33 - and another who had contact with Gabelman in the back yard before events escalated. (possibly the one who egged him on) AND, does THIS mean that TWO COPS shot ONE MAN?????
"It's not a situation you want to go through. One of the officers, he had 23 years on the job and never fired his weapon," the sheriff said of Glatfelter. "You want to go through your whole career like that. (yeah, this just pisses me off so much I can't touch it right now)
"But the thing is, your training takes over. (uh NO apparently NOT because in a bit DICK says that adrenalin takes over and ACCURACY goes out the window -- so ya get a big goddamn cannon from your trunk and shoot a kid from a few yards away and your buddy HELPS)
Later, Nugent met with Gabelman's parents, Tom and Debbie, and his grandmother. (I'll rely on the grandmother to speak the truth. Grandmothers love their grandchildren with a clarity and passion unmatched)
"We talked for a while," he said. "We go back a long ways." (which is why DICK must have felt so comfortable trashing them(see below) AND their son.
Mostly Nugent listened as Tom Gabelman did most the talking. He felt guilty, Nugent said. He wondered if he could have prevented the shooting by helping calm his youngest son. (yeah, pin it on the parents pin it on the victim --- guilt is the first feeling to accompany the raging sorrow when a young person is MURDERED by LEO and then your thoughts eventually become icily CLEAR)
Gabelman heatedly argued with his parents for hours before the shooting, leaving and returning to their home. The last time he returned with a small black handgun. Once more they argued before Gabelman stepped out the front door and the guns fired, investigators said. (I take EXTREME issue with this: in the first article it stated that the parents NEVER let him IN the house which is why they called the cops to keep him out)
"I told him, I don't think Kyle would hurt you intentionally, but you don't know that and (the officers) didn't know that," Nugent said.

Tom Gabelman asked the sheriff why they had to shoot him dead and not just shoot to knock him down. Witnesses reported that one deputy fired a semiautomatic assault rifle. "I said the adrenaline takes over and you don't have that accuracy," Nugent said. (DICK !!!! This is CONTRADICKTORY to what you said previously) and why the FUCK DID YOU SHOOT HIM DEAD??????) AND I LOVE how the SOB gets to speak BOTH SIDES. Same old SHIT.
The sheriff defended his deputies' actions and disputed some witness accounts about whether Gabelman fired at them or into the air. But (OF COURSE) he couldn't say more because of the ongoing investigation. (how would he KNOW?? is he fucking psychic?? Or just the usual NEOCON channel to his own private god??) Sure seems like he had a LOT to say considering there's a gd ongoing investigation.....
"Based upon what I know," he said, "I'm very confident" the deputies will be cleared.
Yknow what DICK???? ME TOO. Those murderers always ARE. Or they have a crackhead friend push your kid into oncoming traffic on the Interstate or shoot him in the head and call it a suicide ...... failing that they can beat him TO DEATH in the back of a deathbox with their fire dept cohorts.
To the Gabelman family: I did not used to curse this much. I'm very sorry for the loss of your beloved son. After a time, you'll BE this angry. It's a long LONG time to live without your family because of a hamhanded motherfucker with a goddamn GED.
