TAMPA — Tampa Fire Rescue is expected to announce disciplinary action late Friday against a fire investigator whose weapon was used in a St. Petersburg home invasion July 22.
St. Petersburg police identified the Tampa investigator as Melton Jenkins and said Jenkins' son had been arrested in the robbery.
The fire investigator did not report the loss of his weapon in a timely manner, a department spokesman said.
More details will be released at a 4 p.m. news conference.
