Let's talk about biases

I'm so sick of everyone blaming everyone else for their everything. I'm pretty fried that a Tampa cop can get away with stalking me but do I blame ALL of them?> Certainly NOT. Tampa Firemen? NO WAY. One happens to be my best friend. Does she know I have this blog? Not sure. I should find out.

Anyway, besides what I read over to Interrobang today ... I've been meaning to talk about a nasty bias that no matter how much they are discriminated against, NO ONE gives them much sympathy.

That's the large people of America. Especially the women. Other cultures are very accepting of their large folks. Blacks are very accepting of theirs. Yea, I can say that because a. I KNOW IT. there is actually a b. big black and beautiful designation of some noted pride.

Be COOL with large people. They have feelings. They're no stupider, meaner, ignorant, uglier or less nutritionally aware than many small folks.

It just makes me angry.

I had a family member who was on the larger side. Completely awesome individual -- once asked me if it embarrassed me to go in public with them. OH MY GOD. Ummmmm. No.

Can't imagine the self-esteem issues from the societal dismay over the size of a body that is not the first fucking bit of anyone's business.

There's no real proof that it costs more to medically treat these folks. Just the doctor's word for it. How many doctors do you trust???
Seriously??
It's only in the last ten years or so that large people can even find attractive clothes. Seriously. When's the last time you saw a black person unable to find anything to wear?

"Fat" people are pretty much maligned across the board.

I hope to hell that pretty soon they start an uprising against this.

I know they've tried before. One of the airlines instituted a policy to charge more for a large person to fly.

If I were the large folks I'd do this: Next time I went to a place that did not have a chair to accomodate me I would SUE. I would go to law school if I had to.

It does just make me SICK that tons of people walk around feeling sorry for themselves and all fierce about their RIGHTS but I bet most of them would make fun of a fat person given the opportunity.

Not the blacks, maybe. Big fat and black is beautiful.

What's wrong with big fat and white??

I'm just sayin ......

Lynching in America

When I see less than the truth being told, I feel driven to tell the whole sory.

Here are the cold, hard facts on lynching in America.

A white on white

white on black

black on white

black on black

human on human

CRIME

Just like all of the crimes.

Chestnutt, the African-American honored by this site said as I did that it is an issue of decency.

Some states never EVER lynched a black person. Some states lynched more whites. Some of this may be attributed to no blacks living in the area but IF you have any kind of grip at all on history you know there have been several exoduses of whites and blacks from north to south and back again due to economics and other reasons.

Here's the outlook on lynching in America from a statistical point of view.

Let every human have it's day in America.

Because when I look at the power structure I see A FUCKER OF EVERY HUE AND CRY up there kicking around and not caring about the little people.

Incidentally, I'm reading Arthur Schlesinger's journals. Quite a juxtaposition with The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

Seems that Obama and Oprah picked up and ran with what a lot of Adlai Stevenson had to say.

Adlai seems all in all a very decent sort .... it's a shame we did not know him better, perhaps as President.

Amazing the similarities to today.

This truly is an endless cycle.

What I can't understand, though is how fast another Reich got started. Truly stunning that only sixty years have passed.

another 102 BILLION FOR IRAQ???

Quick Poll: $102 Billion MORE for Iraq?
In April, Congress will consider Bush's demand for another $102 billion for the never-ending and disastrous occupation of Iraq.
This is on top of the $562 billion Congress has already given Bush since 2003.
And it is on top of the $3 trillion the Iraq War is estimated to cost for veterans' care, weapons replacement, and higher oil prices.
