I've known literally THOUSANDS of teachers and THE ONLY ONES I HAVE EVER MET WHO WERE BAD were in the Hillsborough County PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM with teacher of the year awards on their mantels.

Gunman opens fire during Fla. school board meeting

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) -- A gunman opened fire during a Florida Panhandle school board meeting Tuesday, police said.
Panama City police Sgt. Jeff Becker said one person was shot, but he would not say if it was the gunman.
Board chairman Ryan Neves told the Panama City News Herald that no school board members were injured.
WMBB television reporter Nadeen Yanes told her station that the man came up to the podium at the Bay District School Board meeting and said he had a motion. He then pulled out a can of red spray paint and painted a V with a circle around it.
Yanes told the station he pulled out a handgun and started talking. She said school board member Ginger Littleton hit the gunman with her purse and he pushed her to the ground and started firing randomly.
Yanes and others ran outside. Police had no additional information about the condition of the person who was shot.
Beth Deluzain, executive director of the Bay Education Foundation, works on the second floor of the building. She said she was not told to leave and things seemed to be under control, though the building was surrounded by police.
"Apparently whoever did the threatening is not a threat at this point," she said.

"Everyone is shocked and concerned. We had no indication that this sort of thing was occurring," said City Manager Bill Horne, who hired Geer six years ago and fired him Monday.
"You never know what demons people deal with," said Mayor Frank Hibbard. "Now Jamie's gone and we have to move forward. I hope they get help for the victim and that he gets some help."
Hibbard was reminded of St. Petersburg City Council Chairman John Bryan, with whom he served on a county transportation board. Bryan committed suicide in 2007 after it came out that he had fondled his 15-year-old adopted daughter. It came as a shock to his colleagues.
"You just never know about people," Hibbard said.
Pinellas court records show that Geer and his wife, Merinda, divorced in late October. Merinda Geer, now Merinda Johnston, filed for divorce in 2006, but the case was dismissed in 2008 after more than a year of inaction. She refiled in November 2009.
The FDLE said Geer did not use his position as fire chief in this case, and investigators don't believe there are other victims.
Of the victim, FDLE agent Madden said, "For the last nine years of her life she has been subjected to various forms of sexual assault by an individual 50 years of age. That is a very traumatic event. I think the victim has a lot of issues that she's going to be dealing with for an extended period of time."
The allegations against Geer were first reported in an anonymous letter sent to the FDLE in September. According to an arrest warrant, here's how the investigation unfolded:
After receiving the letter, the FDLE spoke to an unidentified witness who said that in April 2008 the victim told her that Geer was abusing her.
The witness confronted Geer days later. The chief "apologized and said it would not happen again," but the alleged abuse continued until this August, the warrant said.
Investigators spoke to the victim and Geer on Nov. 4. Both denied the allegations. Then, 20 days later, the victim contacted investigators and said Geer had been abusing her for years.
"She denied the allegations when she was first interviewed because she did not want to get Jamie Geer in trouble," the warrant said.
The victim told investigators that it started when she was 8 or 9, when Geer first exposed himself to her. Geer was 50 when he first engaged in sex acts with the victim in 2004, the warrant said. It doesn't say how old the victim was.
On Dec. 1, investigators had the victim call Geer and recorded their conversation.
The victim told him she needed "closure," the warrant said. Geer asked if it was "safe to talk."
The victim asked Geer why "anything happened." Geer, according to the warrant, responded: "He never did anything against her will and he was sorry if he put pressure on her or made things difficult."
Geer also told the victim, the warrant said, that "he should have known better" and that he "tried to do the right thing" and that he was "sorry" that she was struggling with what happened, according to the warrant.
But during the recording, the warrant noted, Geer "never denied having sex."
Geer had been a fire chief in Tennessee when Clearwater hired him in 2004. He was brought in to modernize a flawed department that was still reeling from the aftermath of a 2002 fire at a condominium high-rise that killed two residents and injured three firefighters. The department was criticized for its handling of that fire, and Geer's first move was to institute extensive training reforms.
Geer's hiring was supported by Clearwater's firefighters union, but the union's relationship with the chief soured in recent years.
Union president Gerard Devivo heard about the allegations through an e-mail that the city manager sent to union members Monday afternoon. "I just feel bad for the girl's family and the girl," he said.

Here are some sad facts for you:
1. There are sexual assualts on kids under the age of one. 2. St. Pete Beach PD have (or used to have) a a cop assigned to child abuse only. Guess what - molesters go on vacation and want to molest during their vacation. Their idea of a "good time".3. A Treasure Island cop told me that a lot of pedophiles go to the beach.....because that is where the kids are.

This is an everyday occurence around the nation. It is either child molestation or animal abuse. I read a story about a teen that had sex with his family dogs and molested a young girl in Ft. Walton. When will this behavior end? Or, will it? It is just sickening to me.

doesn't surprise me in the least bit. we have bad cops, bad judges, bad priests and ministers and bad public servants like this one. Just hink of all of this that happened decades and centuries ago and was never reported. it has only been in the last 20 to 30 years that we have rightfully started to take these things very seriously. ifa child made these accusations 100 yrs ago, it would have been athe child that was whipped silly. even in this age of better enlightenment and understanding of child sexual abuse, there are still those who insist upon doing these things and thinking that they can get away with it. this, thank God, will not be the case with this weirdo.

Where is the lady who runs Tampa's Back Door Ways? She may have a point when it comes to local fire department personel. We had the Tarpon Springs fire chief fired for staggering around drunk at the the scene of a fire that left a doctor dead, a Tampa FireDepartment inspector who lost one gun and his replacement used by his son in a home invasion shooting and now this! Good Gawd. Don't they do any background checks on people. A guy just start perving around in his 50's!

They want to steal the property. Check out the firemen's addresses. They've stolen A LOT OF property and hidden it under different names and delisted some of it by giving it to exwives to 'hang on to' "unlisted" due to being fireman's wife. TONS. TONS. I've found like twenty just watching different stuff once they started bothering us.. Pam knows. They are thieves. They are laughing at us.

From experience with the Breen family and Robert O'Neill (friend of corrupt firefighters EVERYWHERE) I can tell you that threatening someone with the sexual offenders registry and this type of crime is much bigger now than dope and guns. Yes she should. She should be in jail herself. I think if your child gets molested or has sex too young with a boyfriend it is partly on the Mom. I'm tired of other people paying for BAD parenting. Yes, the story even though more is here is MIGHTY suspicious. Why would they have the girl call him? The FDLE IS VERY corrupt. VERY. Didn't used to be. Seems like about less than 1/8 the story is here. And now they are embellishing. Now I belive it even less.

This guy is sick. He would be hanging tomorrow in Saudi. Our society is too passive to fight crime. That is why we have these type of crimes over and over.

that's exactly what they are doing. It sounds implausible due to all the history between he and the firemen and you read up there .. wifey got her a new man cuckolded hubby .. now HER new man wants him outta there... voila !! Easier than planting drugs and guns.
