BAD BAD BLOGGER BIG BIG FISH

I'm just quietly and not at all meanly laughing to myself.

I think it's really comical when folks are all smug on themselves believing they have ... you know ... pulled the wool or backed someone into a corner ... planted the hook in someone's mouth ... which, in itself is sad. I mean, that you feel like you have to back someone into a corner to get what you want from them. Real smelly fucking issues there.

I love to fish. My family ... a long line of fishermen and women. Anti-gambling. Pro-fishing. I've got folks fishing the waters in most coastal states and a few countries. Not for sport.

My personal favorite place to fish has always been the Skyway Bridge. Not the new one. You tell me one thing more fun than taking your best girl out for an all-nighter on a starlit night and a beautiful, rising dawn. Nothing between you and 200 feet of black water but a strip of concrete and some bridge span. FREEDOM. Shut the celery phone off. Do what comes naturally. And smile.

Anyway .. my experience with fishers is that they are a fair, foxy bunch. Not much surprises them and not much really irks their patience. They're very cool people. Many of them like to sit back and watch.

When you're reeling in a BIG BIG FISH. BIG FISH.

One of my favorite movies, by the way ...
lots of things can go wrong. And you have to be READY. For all of them. Yknow? You DO know if you are a fair, foxy fish.

First you have to hook them. Now, if you've read the water right you probably won't be too long doing that but, if not, it can take what feels like forever until you finally see the top of that pole tip a bit. Then you take it in hand. Sometimes it's a big disappointment ... a fast current has brought some of the most surprising stuff to the end of some fishing lines. The stuff you haul up and sometimes it's a big struggle .. I mean .. you're SO disappointed when you're new. Not fishers. Fishers closely examine ALMOST ANY catch because they're the proverbial silver lining people.

If the fish is too big for your line ... and here's a link to the QUADRILLION types of line required for different fishing and planned catches.

Anyway .. wrong kind of line == you'll lose your catch rather quickly. And even when you have real HIGH TEST lines, you're not guaranteed a damn bite to eat.

Fish ARE SMART. ESPECIALLY those big ones.

I've watched after I handed my pole to someone stronger (and yeah can't stand that) while a big shark or SOMETHING we never got close enough to see yanked a pole straight out to the bay .... I mean it's really funny .. no matter HOW EXPENSIVE the pole is to watch something with no arms and legs snatch the belongings of something WITH arms and legs and supposedly every capacity to hold on to their belongings.

Anyway .. just when you think you're going to be buttering up a big catch and cooking it over an open fire and letting it melt in your mouth .. instead, you can be standing on shore with your mouth hanging open trying not to laugh OR cry as you watch your pole zigzag away.

So, I LOVE fishing not so much for the fishing but for the TIMES.

And, a LONG LONG time ago I learned the most important thing: How to cut bait.

I can turn my pretty head and walk away down to a science. And, it's hard to sell me a car.

So --- reel away.

I'm a mighty big fish and a WHOLE LOT still left to go wrong.

But, I'm sure enjoying watching you.

Last night, I appeared on MSNBC's Verdict with Dan Abrams to discuss Karl Rove's outrageous refusal to appear before Congress regarding serious allegations that he used the US Justice Department to take down a prominent Democratic politician. It is alleged that Mr. Rove personally instigated the prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegleman.

The case has been criticized by legal experts, and 52 former state attorney generals – both Republicans and Democrats – have criticized the case and called for an investigation. (You may view the clip here.)

If Rove refuses to testify voluntarily and ignores the subpoenas that will certainly be issued, he should be held in Inherent Contempt of the House of Representatives.

No American is above the law. None of us should be able to ignore Congress without consequence. If Mr. Rove ignores a subpoena from the Judiciary Committee, then the House of Representatives should pass an Inherent Contempt citation and exercise our right to send the House Sergeant-of-Arms to gather Mr. Rove and bring him before Congress to testify.
I do not advocate this option lightly, but the reality is that Congress has few options left against an Administration that totally refuses to submit to any type of reasonable Congressional oversight. Congress has both the right and obligation to investigate these matters. Never before has an Executive so upset the checks and balances inherent in our Constitution.

If we back off or delay, we effectively forfeit the power of Congress to investigate the Executive branch.Rove is not the first White House official to ignore Congress. We have seen a pattern of refusals based on laughable claims of executive privilege.

First, White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten and former White House Counsel Harriet Miers ignored subpoenas on the investigation into the firing of US Attorney Generals for partisan political motives. Their refusal to testify was unprecedented: never before have executive officials totally refused to even show up before Congress. Bolten and Miers are the highest officials ever held in contempt of Congress.

Unfortunately, Attorney General Mukasey – in a dereliction of duty – has refused to enforce the contempt decree and now Congress is suing them in District Court to demand compliance. Then, the Vice President's Chief of Staff, David Addington, refused to testify on the investigation into the Bush Administration's ordering of torture.

Now, Rove continues this executive arrogance by also refusing to testify. Enough is enough. We have a Constitutional obligation to provide accountability to a White House that is trying to usurp the constitutional powers of Congress.

These are the very reasons why I have been pushing for impeachment hearings for Vice President Cheney. The Bush Administration has been running roughshod over the Constitution for eight long years.

We should not allow the promise of a positive election be used as an excuse to ignore our duty to investigate crimes that weaken the very fabric of our Democracy.

Wow DEATH SURROUNDS DAVID GEE

Pardon me for saying ... but while the good sheriff is busy with THE GRISLIEST MURDER IN HISTORY ... his pastor is killed in North Carolina.

Would be good to have an eye on what replaces that man. Should be SCARIER which is some way to go.

I mean ... BIG HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM considering the number of retired Florida and Tampa and Hillsborough sheriffs INCLUDING THE ONE who groomed GEE reside at least part-time with many former AND current (LORD THE COMMUTE) Tampa and Hillsborough County firefighters in North Carolina. And a double-interesting connection with the fact that the young man who lived in the trailer (site of the grisly murder) is the son of a DETENTION DEPUTY. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

What's surprising is NOT how stressed the sheriff appeared yesterday and how a commenter at the Tampa Tribune (NOT ME) pointed out that Sheriff Gee and his cronies probably had something to do with the Rachel Hoffman murder.

Look OVER HERE. (grisly bloody crime scene involving children and a dog not to mention a MOM)

NO NOT THERE. (that's just my pastor AND HIS SON)

TYPICAL REPUBLICAN MURDER PLOY.

AND, they're taking em out scuba-diving again. That had fallen off for awhile.

People SERIOUSLY. If someone's going to take you out and they want your property or they just DON"T LIKE YOU, what KIND OF AIR WILL THEY BE PUTTING IN YOUR TANKS????? HELLLOOOOOOO Some of the same stuff they put in my yard and around my car, think?? There are many ways and no I am not some conspiracy theorist.

I AM a scuba diver so naturally scuba deaths would interest me .....

The number of scuba deaths in 2002, 2003 in Tampa and areas surrounding. were SO HIGH it caused me to comment on same to my fiancee'. This was one of the first times I clearly recognized that someone was purposely eavesdropping on my conversation because the man's face went all dark and changed visibly. hmmmmmmmmmmmm. And I was talking very low so .... he must have had his BIG EARS ON. Huh babe?? This is the lesson learned from someone listening to things that they SHOULD NOT BE HEARING. You can't have the faintest clue what the person's motive is. Could be purely conversational and you all up in the FREAK. You display. That's so stupid. Like with the stalking. It's like you have limited personnel. Who uses meth dealers for stalking?? F'ing STUPID. I mean IMO. Then scuba deaths disappeared for a LONG TIME. They're back. But, probably gone again now.

DO they really think everyone is fucking stupid???

In other news I washed my car today. Yes, this IS a big event because the Tampa Fireman's nephew and the one who is STILL LAUGHING in South Tampa (at least his dear friends are) blew their DNA all over my car. Same day. Two different locations. That woman really thought that she would successfully take my property for the City of Tampa. SO I left it there although I video'd wiping it off and STILL HAVE IT put away. I mean how fucking DISGUSTING is that ?? Seriously???!!! Call a cop.. They'll tell you that it's no actual damage. They'll tell you ANYTHING because .... they ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM>

Then they unleashed a CESSPOOL of DNA down El Prado so when you drove through (hard bump from BAD grading at the culvert) there was actual excrement on your car. Didn't matter because I had that nasal stuff put away already and left what's left of it ON THE CAR. Very obvious line down the side though you can no longer tell what it was. Though an inordinate number of rub marks are on both doors as though someone (MANY SOMEONES) is obviously trying to do away with their DNA evidence on MY CAR. (not to mention the rest of what you pulled in accordance. LOSERS)

This, folks, is what happens when you send morons out to do a man's or a woman's work.

And all it ever would have taken was leaving me alone peacefully for a few months and somewhere in there AN ACTUAL CONVERSATION MINUS THREATS> Which is what I have said all along as you machinated your way to this point. I told you LEAVE ME ALONE. LET ME THINK. LEAVE ME ALONE. But, nope you wanted it your way. Kay. How's it working out so far?

But, no. Have it your way.

Threaten my family, run me off the interstate, keep murdering people while I point it out, snot down my car, stalk me, kill my animals .... poison my yard and car ... send your skanks around my child (present company excluded) threaten and hit my child while he plays... the list is long and sick and you DID IT.

So far it's been real fun. How about for YOU???

Conyers Talking Impeachment to BUSH

We are writing to register our strong opposition to possible unilateral, preemptive military action against other nations by the Executive Branch without Congressional authorization. As you know, Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress the power “to declare war,” to lay and collect taxes to “provide for the common defense” and general welfare of the United States, to “raise and support armies,” to “provide and maintain a navy,” to “make rules for the regulation for the land and naval forces,” to “provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the Union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions,” to “provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia,” and to “make all laws necessary and proper for carrying into execution ... all ... powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States.” Congress is also given exclusive power over the purse.

The Constitution says, “No money shall be drawn from the Treasury but in consequence of appropriations made by law.”

By contrast, the sole war powers granted to the Executive Branch through the President can be found in Article II, Section 2, which states, “The President shall be the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into actual Service of the United States.” Nothing in the history of the “Commander-in-Chief” clause suggests that the authors of the provision intended it to grant the Executive Branch the authority to engage U.S. forces in military action whenever and wherever it sees fit without any prior authorization from Congress.

In our view, the founders of our country intended this power to allow the President to repel sudden attacks and immediate threats, not to unilaterally launch, without congressional approval, preemptive military actions against foreign countries.

As former Republican Representative Mickey Edwards recently wrote, “[t]he decision to go to war ... is the single most difficult choice any public official can be called upon to make. That is precisely why the nation’s Founders, aware of the deadly wars of Europe, deliberately withheld from the executive branch the power to engage in war unless such action was expressly approved by the people themselves, through their representatives in Congress.”

1.Members of Congress, including the signatories of this letter, have previously expressed concern about this issue. On April 25, 2006, sixty-two Members of Congress joined in a bipartisan letter that called on you to seek congressional approval before making any preemptive military strikes against Iran.

2 Fifty-seven Members of Congress have co-sponsored H. Con. Res. 33, which expresses the sense of Congress that the President should not initiate military action against Iran without first obtaining authorization from Congress.

3 Our concerns in this area have been heightened by more recent events. The resignation in mid-March of Admiral William J. “Fox” Fallon from the head of U.S. Central Command, which was reportedly linked to a magazine article that portrayed him as the only person who might stop your Administration from waging preemptive war against Iran,

4 has renewed widespread concerns that your Administration is unilaterally planning for military action against that country. This is despite the fact that the December 2007 National Intelligence Estimate concluded that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons program in the fall of 2003, a stark reversal of previous Administration assessments.

5 As we and others have continued to review troubling legal memoranda and other materials from your Administration asserting the power of the President to take unilateral action, moreover, our concerns have increased still further. For example, although federal law is clear that proceeding under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) “shall be the exclusive means by which electronic surveillance” can be conducted within the U.S. for foreign intelligence purposes, 18 U.S.C. 2511(2)(f), the Justice Department has asserted that the National Security Agency’s warrantless wiretapping in violation of FISA is “supported by the President’s well-recognized inherent constitutional authority as Commander in Chief and sole organ for the Nation in foreign affairs”.6 As one legal expert has explained, your Administration’s “preventive paradigm” has asserted “unchecked unilateral power” by the Executive Branch and violated “universal prohibitions on torture, disappearance, and the like.”

7 Late last year, Senator Joseph Biden stated unequivocally that “the president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran, and if he does, as Foreign Relations Committee chairman, I will move to impeach” the president.

8 We agree with Senator Biden, and it is our view that if you do not obtain the constitutionally required congressional authorization before launching preemptive military strikes against Iran or any other nation, impeachment proceedings should be pursued. Because of these concerns, we request the opportunity to meet with you as soon as possible to discuss these matters. As we have recently marked the fifth year since the invasion of Iraq, and the grim milestone of 4,000 U.S. deaths in Iraq, your Administration should not unilaterally involve this country in yet another military conflict that promises high costs to American blood and treasure.

WARSAW, Poland - Irena Sendler — credited with saving some 2,500 Jewish children from the Nazi Holocaust by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto, some of them in baskets — died Monday, her family said. She was 98.
Sendler, among the first to be honored by Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial as a Righteous Among Nations for her wartime heroism, died at a Warsaw hospital, daughter Janina Zgrzembska told The Associated Press.
President Lech Kaczynski expressed "great regret" over Sendler's death, calling her "extremely brave" and "an exceptional person." In recent years, Kaczynski had spearheaded a campaign to put Sendler's name forward as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Sendler was a 29-year-old social worker with the city's welfare department when Germany invaded Poland in September 1939, launching World War II. Warsaw's Jews were forced into a walled-off ghetto.
Seeking to save the ghetto's children, Sendler masterminded risky rescue operations. Under the pretext of inspecting sanitary conditions during a typhoid outbreak, she and her assistants ventured inside the ghetto — and smuggled out babies and small children in ambulances and in trams, sometimes wrapped up as packages.

Uncovering Secrets Freedom of Information Act Requests Demand Government Release National Mall Documents

The Partnership for Civil Justice has filed two Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests on behalf of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition seeking critical information about the effort of the Bush Administration to privatize the National Mall. One FOIA demands the government release information about the make-up of the Trust for the National Mall, the private business-led entity that the National Park Service (NPS) has authorized to partner in its planned remake of the National Mall. The government has so far refused to disclose critical information about the Trust, including its Board of Directors. The FOIA also demands records of communications between the Bush Administration, the NPS and the private Trust. Since thousands of people around the country have written the NPS demanding that the National Mall remain fully open for free speech activities, the government has back-tracked and claimed that their plans to create a "protest pit" are only an option under consideration -- but two official reports put out last year by the NPS say otherwise.

The second FOIA request demands the Bush Administration's NPS release information regarding those plans, as evidenced in the reports, to restrict or ban First Amendment activities on the National Mall including their written plans to "pave civic space and speaker's corners for First Amendment Demonstrations" so as to "reduce the impact" on the "experience of other visitors."
