Bush washes Libby's Grapes

aside: i should say that libby really shouldn't have taken the fall for everyone. Go for the heads of the hydra. I'm really not bothered by this guy not going to prison but by bush's usual bullshit. to WIT:

I respect the jury's verdict," Bush said in a statement. "But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby's sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison."

Bush's decision enraged Democrats and cheered conservatives — though some of the latter wished Bush had granted a full pardon.

"Libby's conviction was the one faint glimmer of accountability for White House efforts to manipulate intelligence and silence critics of the Iraq war," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. "Now, even that small bit of justice has been undone."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Bush's decision showed the president "condones criminal conduct."

Unlike a pardon, which would have wiped away Libby's criminal record, Bush's commutation voided only the prison term.

The president left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation for his conviction of lying and obstructing justice in a probe into the leak of a CIA operative's identity. The former operative, Valerie Plame, contends the White House was trying to discredit her husband, a critic of Bush's Iraq policy.

Bush said his action still "leaves in place a harsh punishment for Mr. Libby."

I think I met one of these disgruntled employees today.

Didn't get his first name but got him on video. Man, I LOVE video. This guy was such a wipe. Told my friend he'd been around for TWENTY ONE years and he KNEW the ding-dang law.

(honestly, it's pretty much what we expected but every now and then it would be way cool to be surprised)

Apparently there are really NOT too many law enforcement types in Tampa who actually KNOW something about the law (or pretend not to LOL) because the sheriff's office (whom I have seen on my OWN street in the city doing some selective busting) claims that they do not service certain areas.

HOW ------ E V E R ........... when you place a phone call to the Dept of Consumer Affairs and Agricultural yada Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in Tallahassee EACH employee you speak to will FIRMLY state that a COUNTY SHERIFF serves the ENTIRE county. (and in monmouth they admit it.lol) (which means if I have a problem in the city and don't want to talk to one of the yayHOO tampa PD, A sheriff has the duty to emerge and defend the letter of the law) So, I'm going to give them notice of that somehow. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Dept, despite it's inept and corrupt leadership has consistently employed better men and women (this not inclusive of all because ... well, you see what I see -- look at some of them)

Cause see, I've had them in front of me doing some mean things on the Interstate RIGHT SMACK IN THE HEART OF THE CITY.


Man, I been here for Y E A R S --- I KNOW the law.


Yeah, you GOOOOO boy-o.

Anyway, I think they should get some extra police watching the police.

Pretty much what we have now.

Oh and since the police were clearly called (because it was recommended strongly not really by CHOICE) to report a T H E F T, I would like to query the" at least highschool graduate who enters this data whom I believe to be Officer Noyes" and ask him how he spells T H E F T. Quite clearly his spelling is VERY poor because it came out as 'disturbance'. (not even the same number of letters or syllables, confounding it is!!) Fortunately, it's all on videotape.

AND this is how Tampa's crime rate drops selectively over the past six years and how murders get counted as walks in the park. But, FDLE will uncover all that, never fear. LOL !!
