Peter Clarke WE WON'T MISS YOU take the others with you

Here's another one of these fraudulent 'citizens' (the new people) of Florida. It's NOT FAIR. IT'S NOT FAIR. shaddup. How is it FAIR that all you New Yorkers from the dark side, your PA cronies and your OHIO gangsta friends got together in ONE MIND and brought your assault army selves on Florida, victimizing people who never did a thing to to you?? All you need is for us to SHUT UP, MOVE, build your ass a casino and it's like you never LEFT Saratoga Springs.

Cry me a river, ya big whiner.

AND, it's VERY irresponsible of teh St. Pete Times and their baby-bell paper TBT.COM to keep promoting this fallacy. You ! SHUT UP, TOO !!!

This guy wants to be sure the little old lady across the street pays as much as HE DOES for taxes.

Okay, I blogged this WAY BACK because the argument is not EVEN paper-thin. More like an old spider-web.

Oh, shallow-headed bimbo-people: (sorry but this is just too freaking selfish of him) Don't you EVEN DARE THINK that Floridians are going to FORGET that we have been paying for YEARS so that you could crumble up the roads and other infrastructure and suck up the water that we paid for FOR YEARS before YOU GOT HERE. (I don't mind ANY of this until he says that WE should pay OUR fair share, you don't notice any of us racing to saratoga springs like he raced here. Go home, friend. Walk away. Each word he says ..... contradicts the next one)

In another thirty years YOUR taxes will be LESS than someone's.

Now, THAT is flawless math. Not even cracked. Not even dinged, babe.

Your argument makes no sense. (were you one of the props in Tally whom charlie came out to hold hands with????)

Check out some excerpts:

As a recent transplant to the Clearwater area (I moved here in August), I wanted to share a perspective on the super homestead exemption that I haven't seen represented in your local coverage of this issue.

Yeah Pete, I've never SEEN that angle before. LOL. Just got here in August. Can't imagine how Saratoga Springs has gotten along without him for so long. Him knowing everything and all. LOL

......
full value assessment.

For those who need an explanation, (us Floridians he means LOL)this means all homes are assessed periodically (about every two years) at full-market value, and taxes are based on that value, with few exceptions.

This means that the little old lady across the street who bought her home in 1965 for $19,000 and now has an assessment of $400,000 pays the same as her neighbors who bought their comparable home last week for the same $400,000 taxable value.

I'm not saying this is fair, but it is more reasonable than one person paying $1,000 in taxes and the neighbor paying $7,200 for equally valued property, as you have here in Florida. There has to be some middle ground or at some point the system (and math) just breaks down.

Hey Pete, here is is real slow: You're not asking for middle ground. I don't see ANYTHING in your rant about middle ground. I see that you want to be let off a hook that YOU jumped on.

WHAT math breakdown, dude??? What's your accounting background?? (broken math sounds like a jeb-ism to ME)
He continues:

The system in Florida (and the math) is broken, and the Florida real estate market is the recipient of the miscalculation. I understand that seniors on fixed incomes cannot just be thrown under the bus and told, "Too bad, you now have to pay the same full taxable value as your new neighbor."

I also have to tell you that Florida cannot load all the expenses of government and services on the middle class and new-resident home buyers, whom you must have to live here to ensure a healthy and growing economy.

Okay, NOW he is blaming the tax (NONcrisis) for the real-estate market. LOL !! The real-estate market is teh result of the united band of assorted criminals whom I am always blogging and their ilk swirling the market and not really qualifying for but being granted JUMBO mortgages..... AND the alleged crisis in Florida is about as real as tehSocial Security crisis. NON-ISSUE they are DRIVING IT and CREATING IT.

For the record, the MASONS/SHRINERS play a huge and well-documented part in MORTGAGE FRAUD/suspicious activity involving mortgages. hmmmmmmmmmmm

Guess what ELSE, Peter?? If there really IS a peter. LOL. We were doing JUST FINE before Jebby. And before the band of mob criminals were invited in by his presence.

So, it's okay if you leave. We'll be FINE. HONEST.

In June, when I saw the new super-homestead exemption amendment was to be presented to the public in January 2008 for a vote and that it provided protection for seniors and longstanding residents at current levels, I made the assumption that the voters of Florida were a smart bunch and would recognize this was a good and fair way to get new middle-class homeowners into the Florida market.

Yes, now if YOU voters are smart -- you'll think like Pete wants you to. LOL. Also he fails to explain how all these lot line to lot line dumps were built ALL ACROSS Florida PLUS the DOCKOMINIUMS which effectively stole ALL of our waterfront that Mayor Pam isn't working on taking. If you haven't been to Clewiston lately -- take a drive. See how the Peters are treating Florida in their low-class middle-class way.

THEN VOTE.

I made an informed decision and a bet. (TOLD YOU HE WAS A BETTOR who wanted you to pay for his NEW CASINO) I bet that the people of Florida would make a logical, thoughtful decision for themselves and for people like me who want to live here and pay reasonable taxes (trust me, there are many others like me who would like to be here as well).SWELL, will they be just as disingenuous??? Thank GOD you can SAVE THEM FROM FLORIDA DO IT PETE SAVE THEMThe new taxes under the proposed amendment for a townhouse like mine would be about $4,000 (my neighbor's would still be under $2,000). I have to say, I really think Pete worries WAY TOO MUCH about his neighbors.

Do the math, folks. That would mean I could live in Florida for only a little more than it cost to be in New York. (Forget the argument about New York state income taxes; user fees here are excessive and even out in the long run. Also, New York state income taxes are deductible from your federal income tax return.)

Oh MY GOD, this is where I started to get angry:
He took a bet we'd be smart and WANT TO DO THINGS FOR HIM. Who the hell wants MORE PEOPLE in Floridas??? Jesus Christ, can more FIT??
And, finally, Pete tells us to FUHGEDDABOUT state income tax in NY. We have NO argument. Pete, New York really sounds SO MUCH BETTER. If you know so many people there and your big concern about everything being FAIR is better there --- well, don't let the door hit you in the ass.

No ONE is fooled.

Contact the St Pete Times and tell them to quit sucking up to Marco Rubio and clan.

It SUCKS

Oh and Isn't the dad in American Dad named Peter Clarke? Just wondering ...

The commenters pretty well skewered his delirious rant: (OMG they even published one of my THREE comments 1420 mentions for Tampasbackdoor today)

by Sam 11/01/07 03:14 PM
We also moved out of FL 6 years ago after living there for 30 years. The schools wouldn't stop bleeding us for tax money year after year. Enough was enough and the kids are no smarter. The western NC area is very affordable and the climate is mild.
by Eric 11/01/07 03:01 PM
It's people like Mr Clarke who are giving some of you trailer dwellers your jobs. If employers don't come, you'll be stuck answering the phone at call centers or stuffing coupons into envelopes. More employers = more options for you, get it?
by Steve 11/01/07 02:54 PM
Trust me when I say that most people that live in Florida don't care what New Yorkers think. You are a cliche.
by Robin 11/01/07 02:44 PM
"Pay up" the writer says...how about EVERYONE pay their own way? What a concept....People should not be penalized for working hard, getting an education and making smart financial decisions. Everyone should pay the same amount of tax.
by s 11/01/07 02:43 PM
Without just a little effort, I found a discrepancy in the numbers you quoted. How much more could there be? You did your research before moving here. Now, you want everything to change... or, do you just want to complain?
by Bob 11/01/07 02:31 PM
I used to think people in this country would do the right thing and vote to make things fair. The last 6 years have proved that incorrect. I am a beneficiary of SOH and I will now say "to heck with every body else - give me mine" It's pretty sad!
by Patty 11/01/07 02:28 PM
We bought a condo with retirement savings in FL hoping to move soon when we retire. We are not speculators or investors,we have a very modest condo. Since we're not living there yet full time, we're punished by tax system and can't even vote on it.
by Chris 11/01/07 02:26 PM
There is only one fair solution at this point. All property taxes should be repealed and replaced with an addition to the sales tax.
by Bland 11/01/07 02:19 PM
Well written Mr. Clarke. As a life long resident, over fifty-(50) years, may I suggest the SOH has become a modern day revenge on the new Yankee Carpet Baggers. You go look up the history, I know it. Our problem is the local government spending.
by Bill 11/01/07 01:55 PM
I don't know how much housing costs in Saratoga Springs, but I did sell a house in the NYC suburbs a few years ago. For the same price, Clearwater is about twice the house, and somewhat lower taxes. Insurance is another story though.
by Sara 11/01/07 01:43 PM
I agree with you. I moved three years ago from up north and the cost of living here is ridiculous. Things do not add up. Taxes are out of control and wages are low. Ten years ago it was cost effective to live in Florida. Not anymore.
by Resident 11/01/07 01:23 PM
Right on, Peter! I'm with you! Hey, Tallahasee (and you local gov'ts) are you listening !!!!????
by Scott 11/01/07 01:11 PM
Pete, it was good to have you here.
by JS 11/01/07 01:06 PM
dont let the door hit you on the way out
by Steven Tamayo 11/01/07 12:08 PM
GO HOME. People like you are the reason prices have skyrocketed in the first place. Florida used to be a nice place to live.
by Kevin 11/01/07 11:45 AM
I've lived here for about five years, I'm researching alternative places to live. All anyone can seem to say about Tampa is about it's potential. I hope it won't be wasted potential.
by Matt 11/01/07 11:25 AM
Good riddance Pete
by Migdalia 11/01/07 11:19 AM
Hi Peter The state of Florida is a Money Hungry Machine with a very low IQ. Thank you for the information
by Jeff 11/01/07 10:55 AM
All the northern folk that relocate to Florida is a big part of the problem :)Services are pushed to the limit and rates go up...I do agreee though everyone should pay their fair share.
by Lee 11/01/07 10:51 AM
The comments are absolutely "On the money", totally correct,...Now if we could just get our elected legislators, house and senate, to understand, maybe people wouldn't be leaving the state. Playing politics doesn't solve problems, Common sense..?
by Arnie 11/01/07 10:36 AM
Mr. Clarke, you are correct on all points. Legislators need to consider the long-term, broad effects of poorly conceived public policies.
by Joe 11/01/07 10:35 AM
So long and have a nice trip. The more people that go. The less money we have and that is that.
by Helen 11/01/07 10:23 AM
You have no choice but to suffer. You won't be able to sell your place without taking a huge financial hit.
by James 11/01/07 10:03 AM
I don't have my dictionary handy but I take a "bet" to be the same as a "speculation". Turns out you weren't gambling on the intelligence of Floridians, but rather the weak argument(too confusing) of a judge to allow us to vote on it.
by john 11/01/07 09:31 AM
I totally agree. Under the proposed plan there is little relief for new homeowners. But insurance has to be dealt with too. No hurricanes now for several years...will our homeowner's costs go down? I doubt it!
by Scott 11/01/07 09:30 AM
If our taxation system is making people reconsider moving to Florida, and making you think about moving out, then, I, a native, say it is working perfectly. I wouldn't change a thing. Do you want my email? If you leave, I'll help you pack.
by John 11/01/07 09:09 AM
Well thought, well written letter. Yet, the source of the problem is not tax inequities but commissioners who more than doubled government spending in just 6 years, above the minor population growth. A 3% cap is irrelevant if gov. growth is <3%.>
by Marcia 11/01/07 09:06 AM
We moved out of Florida after thirty years. We now live in South Carolina, way cheaper. We love it here, and the People are wonderful...
by John 11/01/07 09:05 AM
I, too, belive that the Super Homestead Exemption is a good idea. Doesn't need to be on the ballot, just be implemented. We elect politicians to represent us. Start governing before the number of people leaving the state outnumbers those moving in.
by Joshu Jones 11/01/07 08:34 AM
Very compelling. However, just to your east, you have formerly beautiful woodlands now miles of McHomes. To you west you have Mega Condo-opolis. Attracting new residents and lining the pockets of developers is not a "helathy" economy in my opinion.
by Barbara 11/01/07 08:24 AM
As a senior, I don't anything except a car because of taxes and insurance. I guess the thing to do is get a travel trailer and keep moving till you die. It's no wonder we have so many homeless.
by ds 11/01/07 08:23 AM
As a new resident (2006), I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, the majority of long time FL residents are of the opinion that they don't need any 'outsiders' here. A lesson in the constitution and economic repercussions doesn't seem to help either.
by bob 11/01/07 08:20 AM
Same article, different day, must be nice to live on clearwater beach
by steve 11/01/07 08:16 AM
The real question is"Who was behind the denial of tax relief for the people of Florida?" The politics of the small town judge who file suit to get the Super exemption removed? The authors who wrote it "vaguely"? Where were the constitutional lawyers?
by Martin 11/01/07 08:13 AM
Mr. Clarke throughout your article you imply that Floridians are less than intelligent if they don't support a tax plan that benefits you. Trust me. We'll each make a decision that makes the most sense for each of us.If it doesn't suit you, bye bye

Okay, tell me if this sounds mercenary. I'm leaving out names and identities for now, and even some words to protect those who frankly don't deserve protection but having never been a RAT (like some) I just don't feel good about spilling people's filthy sides of their lives onto the WWW...

However -- (you knew this was coming, right??) -- I'm willing to disclose same for a fee. In fact, I'm going to disclose some of this in a book which will definitely be for sale very soon but if you'd like to know if your name or some similar aspect that identifies your smarmy and illegal acts towards me and my family have been mentioned I'd be happy to negotiate a fee with you. For the record, save your pennies if I've known you longer than thirty years. Out of respect for you and your family I'll leave your names out. Out of respect for you and your family I have remained silent. Apparently this same respect was not inbred in you. That's a pity but you and yours are safe with me. The ones who took it upon themselves to do your bidding against an innocent family are wide open just like they've left MY family wide open. Herewith I refer to my extended family and network many of whom are currently suffering at your hands. Be on notice.

About Me

ANYWHERE, ANYWHERE LOL, United States
I was born a citizen of the world and have remained such but along with that: I'm a long time Tampa resident. Mixed bag at that as I've seen life here from nearly all angles and while somewhere in there I became slightly indoctrinated, I'm not too proud of the way people have taken over this city and run it with an iron fist for all but some. This city is working hard on creating just two classes. Thems and them dont's and they are working hard to shove some families down into the gutter for reasons known only to them. Some might be as petty as jealousy, some might be politically motivated, some might just be stupid and all are wrong. I want to believe we can get better but that would entail some stuff that I have no control over. I only can control myself and my reactions to what occurs.
