DCF and Sarasota YMCA reached a 'mutual' (LOL) agreement to allow another foster agency to be found (by DCF, might as well NOT BOTHER) to oversee foster care in Sarasota.
As I've blogged in the past, Sarasota YMCA has been found to have placed foster children in homes where 80% of the time, a sexually aggressive person was the caregiver or also resided in the home. I also touched on the subject in numerous other posts. Here.
John Bryan (GOP) who carbon monoxide'd himself was being investigated for having his fingers all up and over ALL of his adopted children. Guess what board he resigned from? It's my understanding that pedophiles know and help each other. But, OF COURSE he wouldn't do that to any OTHER helpless child for a pedophile found by the YMCA. Of COURSE this could never happen in Tampaaaaaaaa. I'm WATCHING IT.
Probably because of this 'stellar' performance of their sistery YMCA, the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA was also awarded a state foster-care contract, about a year ago. Contact Bob Butterworth and tell him that these people will make a worst mess of our childrens' lives than Sarasota Y, even.

As you may remember,
I signed up to attend to check in to becoming a foster parent. It's all faith based. No dogs. Prayer before and after. Wack job after wack job leading the show, whom you could TELL had ZERO experience with either the job OR children. Our beloved children. Other people left disgusted; I hid my disgust, stayed for the knowing and then left. I like to believe all the normal ones left, even though that's scary for children. Other people applying DID seem nice but Ted Bundy seemed nice to something like SEVENTEEN murder victims. AND, there was the whole 'kids and dogs don't mix' thing.
Are we going to allow MORE CHILDREN to be victimized before records show that the NEXT YMCA (EVERY YMCA) is also placing vulnerable children in dangerous situations?
The review performed by a committee formed by DCF Secretary Bob Butterworth described the YMCA management: "YMCA's management (is) arrogant and defensive in the way it deflected criticisms of the agency."
Yes, that is pretty much my experience. Only WORSE because I deal with the staff, as well. Thieves and stalkers and NAZIs. We love the place. I am never bothered by those around me, I'm on my own program. LOL
Anyway, IMAGINE that arrogance and defensiveness turned on HELPLESS CHILDREN. Their parents will trust the YMCA although the one I regularly attend it's pretty obvious they are skanks ...... so coupled with my personal observations that staff members lie TO AND ABOUT children, it's time to get them OUT of foster care.
I should also state that this routine bullying attitude is new to the Y. They gradually chased out all of the good employees and there are very very very few left. Like I said, the ones left are in ill health. They turned the YMCA into this in the time of the Bush regime. Prior, it was a very cool place with mostly very cool people and only the occasional asshole as I look in my rearview mirror. The other, nicer employees outnumbered the jerks for a long, long time. No more. AND, they are the ones in charge of foster care. I know. I conversed with two local Ys in the process of that insanity.

I want to remind you of this: The Saturday following the Friday I blogged about the faith-based YMCA foster parent program a BIG THUG DUDE wearing a YMCA shirt so new it had the wrinkles still from the folding came and followed me and glared at me for over thirty minutes.
Make that TWO HOURS. Also (I had forgotten, told you guys I pay you no mind other than documenting your dumb asses) the Tampa Fire DEPT about wore a rut in the ground around me that day. Also Pinellas. They hold hands across the bay. Like Pammy (mayor of Tampa)and Ricky (mayor of St Pete) on the homeless. It's going to be cold, get your butts OUTTA the library. So, re-reading the post reminded me that the Tampa Firemen are vested in the YMCA millions. I'd have to speculate that this basic child-abuse is then ALSO city-sanctioned just like the harassment and stalking of my family.
GOP and YMCA connections.Don't let the statistics pile up before you show your concern. These are innocent CHILDREN.

t also fits the BOSTOCK SAGA of the lady who wants to drop her adopted child back off. No recourse. Those kids will go back in to this mess in perpetuity.
There are GOOD people who really want to HELP children. I'm not sure WHY we keep letting the Dept of Children and Families determine all of this. Obviously they have FAILED EACH and NUMEROUS times.
First we need to take a HARD LOOK at why
DCF shatters so many families for no real reason and leaves others intact when the children are in danger.
THEN, we need to be sure that YMCA's are OUT OF THE PICTURE. It's worth MILLIONS.

much a guy was sent to stalk me to intimidate me after I spoke out against the YMCA being involved with foster care in Hillsborough County.
Full Disclosure: I am a member of the Tampa Metro YMCA and have been off and on (mostly off until the last few years) since 1989 or so. Now that I observe children in the programs I see that the intent of the YMCA is VERY similar to the GOP. Lockstep meanness. Ostracizing of certain children, encouraging bullying, staff lying in interaction with children, documentation of injuries and criminal mischief by children encouraged by YMCA staff and officers. Documentation of injuries to children encouraged or overlooked by staff. Theft. Rampant THEFT of articles from 'the unchosen who are not highly blessed and favored'I've actually observed a YMCA fitness person gouging a little girl with a weight problem. As she perceived it. I think people come in S M L and that's that. This child was in tears. Almost daily for over a year. YMCA: WE build strong kids and strong families. Does strong=BULLY??
Kids trust me and tell me things. Maybe because I am more their size and smile at them. I LOVE them. I love their honest eyes and faces. When they report abuse by bullies to the staff the one EMU (among others)tells them not to snitch. You realize this leaves children as victims of bullies. When other children related that he lied about them too, his boss then approached me. She fared no better with me. Somewhere in there the Iorio family and others of same stature or imagined MORE in Tampa, fit in.
They got rid of the ONE staff member they had who advocated for the children. A few who are left in place all seem to be suffering from bad health. Yep. Kinda more than coincidental.
As well, some of the WORST employees at the YMCA are also school-teachers. These kids are screwed so many ways. But, at least most of them have parents. Sadly, I'm one of the FEW people I know who really listens to children. So, I'm like the pied-piper with them: they follow me everywhere sharing their hearts.
The scumbags can lie to other adults to ostracize someone but kids don't fall for it. Many of the lil Nazi Y employees like to hover ... I don't know WHY they think that would bother anyone. We all laugh at them. For awhile they were breaking windshields there to keep people away from the YMCA who were not wanted. Couple of calls fixed that. Lots of documentation and one tiny crack in my OWN. Witnessed. So, next time I'll know who to report, witness intact. Tag on record, cell-phone photo. Yeah.
Anyway, before more children are DAMAGED call out Bob Butterworth and tell him that the evidence is there that the YMCAs are incompetent for foster-care AND their program is faith-based. We don't need another pile of statistics to take that contract and those millions BACK. Our children deserve BETTER.
I guess all those millions of dollars is important enough to someone to send some thugs in YMCA shirts back out to stalk me. Have at it.

-In the coming weeks: The Florida Department of Children and Families will send out an "invitation to negotiate," seeking interested agencies to begin discussions and submit proposals about how they would handle foster care services in Pinellas and Pasco counties.
-By February or March: The DCF will select a new agency, or agencies, to do the work.
-July 1: The new agency will take control of the foster work in Pinellas or Pasco, the dayafter the Sarasota Family YMCA's contract expires.

| It's not just about more $ for the cm's. It has to be about smaller case loads. No matter how big your salary, you can't effectively manage a case load of over 30 kids. In order to suceed, whoever takes this contract must demand case load caps !!! |

| I work for the disabled in FL and it's the same as foster care. Our needy will continue to suffer as long as we fail to provide adequate money for these services, and actual support from oversight agencies instead of scapegoating. |
