The other night at Borders .. I SWEAR this is what I heard ... in fact, what another 'mom' related directly to me. I only answered enough to be polite. Agreed among those who were around me who know me quite well: Less said the better. They were glad she moved on.

This woman actually took HER ONLY DAUGHTER to the Hard Rock Casino to celebrate her 19th birthday. Why nineteenth?? Did the kid not turn eighteen? What'd they do then? Hit a porn store? Seriously.

The upside was then she brought her for some books. Which I think they agreed were too expensive.



Yeah, go figure. Kinda like University of South Florida, locally known as U STAY FOREVER. (USF) They cannot afford to ADMIT students but they CAN AFFORD to hire more security (TONS MORE) and build gates and are figuring maybe everyone should wear their id card. Cause oh hell YEAH that will prevent murders and break ins. LMAO !!!

When I looked back down and continued reading Arther Schlesinger's Journals which are FASCINATING. the 'mom' continued to recount to the top of my head that her daughter had lost some stupid hands of poker. Like to a full house or a royal flush or ... whatever ..." if you HAVE to lose," she opined, "that is the best way to do so."

I realize this woman probably just dropped in for my benefit. LOL.

Why? I dunno, I find most of it rather comical. And pedestrian. If total idiots can qualify as pedestrian, I mean. I think in order for one to qualify as pedestrian one must also attain some level of ... civility. Or education. Somethin.

It's like my own private parade of oddities and mean people. Typical of the sideshow in these folks' head. She did seem like a nice, if not very thoughtful woman.

It's VERY SAD TO ME that all a parent can think of to DO to celebrate the young person's life whom they should love MOST in the world, maybe even more than themselves at times is to take them by the hand and go to Hard Rock Casino and say: "LOOK !! Now you can learn to be just as fucking STUPID as ME !!!"

Just my personal opinion. To each their own.

I'd find more amusement lighting my dinero on fire and watching the pretty colors as it burned.

And, truthfully, I see that all around me as parents whore their own flesh and blood out and use their children as bait and mini gangstas.

So, I guess dragging your kid off to hard rock so they can learn how to LOSE MONEY JUST LIKE YOU is probably NOT THE STUPIDEST FUCKING THING to do but it rates up there.

In similar news I'm still wondering ... how IS it that all around us there is no hope?? USF can build motherfucking GATES at six locations and spend MULTI MILLIONS on MORE SECURITY but can't afford to accept students.
