He defended his record as President Bush's legal adviser and as attorney general, saying: "It will take years for the entire story to be told. We know the first manuscripts of administrations are often incomplete, and they can be inaccurate, and they have to be discarded."

I wonder if he'd mind pointing out WHICH first manuscripts of WHICH administrations to WHICH he REFERS ?!?!?!?! LOL.

I try to make the kind of sense they can 'git'.

Perhaps he refers to the Constitution, as well. Certainly during his time RISING TO THE TOP of the BUSH heap ... he pretty much discarded that precious cornerstone of our democracy.

I could tell the story in like a few lines and less than five minutes:

His White House tenure was marked by questions over his endorsement of harsh interrogation techniques for terrorism suspects; his role in promoting a government eavesdropping program; and most recently, the level of his involvement in the allegedly partisan firing of several U.S. attorneys.

But Gonzales on Monday said his only regret as attorney general was that he did not have a "better process" in place for "changes in personnel at the U.S. attorney rank."

"The process should have been handled in a different way," he conceded.

He insisted the Justice Department does not condone torture, but he suggested that al-Qaida members who do not adhere to the rules of war are not entitled to the full protections of the Geneva Convention.

I think he means COVERTLY. LOL

Let him write a book which according to HIM should be discarded.

Citizenship a 'privilege'? A true conservative, AG Gonzales rejects the claims of the Founding Fathers that 'All men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights. Now we know rights come from the government, not the Creator.

UF officials have every right to host gonzales as a speaker but they are %100 wrong to compensate him monetarily. Then see if he shows up. He was using them as the fools they are for expending university money to give such a phony a platform.

I wonder how much Ramsey Clark, Jane Fonda, and Angela Davis were paid when they spoke on campus while I attended U of F during the seventies? FYI, there was a great deal of booing in their presentations as well. AG Gonzales appears successful.

While I applaud Accent from bringing great speakers to UF during my time as a student there. I am personally dismayed that so much money was spent on one of the worst Attorney Generals in U.S. history. What a waste!
