HybridCOLUMBUS, Minn. (Map, News) - The Anoka County sheriff's office says a firefighter has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire that burned hundreds of acres in and near the Carlos Avery Wildlife Refuge.
The sheriff's office says the 40-year-old man lives in the northern Twin Cities suburb of Columbus and is a firefighter in the area. After allegedly starting Monday's fire, which forced some nearby residents to evacuate, he helped try to put it out.
The sheriff's office and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are investigating. Authorities say at this time there is no link to other grass fires that happened earlier in Anoka County.
The DNR said Tuesday it is immediately restricting open burning permits in Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Sherburne, Washington and Wright counties.

They'll TRY to spin this like a psychological 'he wants to be a hero' thang. BUT, it's MUCH MORE sinister than that.
Look to see what happens in areas after a fire this large.
They totally SHUT DOWN the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser's website.
