The Declaration of Peace and United for Peace and Justice encourage your participation in the nonviolent actions that are being organized in Washington, D.C. and across the country during the 5th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
This is the third of seven weekly "5 Years Too Many" e-mails.

The Declaration of Peace invites you to join us on a facilitated conference call on February 18th to talk to activists and organizers across the country, to share ideas and inspiration, and give and receive advice on organizing for the March 19th actions in D.C. and around the country.
Over the past year-and-a-half, Declaration of Peace national conference calls have enabled activists across the country to connect with each other. We've heard so many inspiring success stories and good ideas on these calls.

We need you to encourage others to get on the February 18th conference call and to act on March 19th.

We encourage groups and individuals representing all 50 states to come to D.C. on March 19th to join United for Peace and Justice, The Declaration of Peace, and other organizations and campaigns to be part of a powerful day of coordinated, nonviolent action.

*** March 19th Local Actions Throughout the Country
We encourage those who are not able to make it to D.C. on March 19th to organize and participate in local actions.
We are aiming to have at least one event in each of the 435 Congressional districts.
These local events will vary in character and location, but, they will all be tied to the actions in Washington and sending the same message to the policy makers: It is time to end this war and occupation!

**** Interfaith Peace Witness for IraqMarch 7, 2008
Christian Peace Witness for Iraq and The Declaration of Peace invite you to participate in the Interfaith Peace Witness for Iraq on March 7, 2008.
You are encouraged to come to Washington, D.C. to pray for Peace at the U.S. Capitol and to call upon Congress to take concrete steps to end the U.S. war and occupation in Iraq as it enters its sixth year.

People of faith from many traditions and denominations will gather prayerfully on March 7 to take action for Peace in Iraq. After morning workshops and nonviolence training, the event will begin with religious services in houses of worship around Capitol Hill. Participants will then process to an interfaith convocation, followed by nonviolent witness, including nonviolent civil disobedience.
