In Tampa, Florida a city of 340,000 people, and in Hillsborough County Florida; a county of 1,147,120 (2005(est.)the Hillsborough County Commission has busied itself creating a law that purports to be about sexual offenders and/or predators but instead on close inspection will likely be aimed at the homeless and any man or person thought to be 'lurking' in a park or library, etc....
ONE HUNDRED TWENTY TWO PEOPLE out of 1POINT2 MILLION !!!

Men should be especially troubled by this. Don't try to take a nap on a beautiful day in the park without your 'papers' or your 'gold star'.

The City Council is itching to follow suit. And probably will.

Commission Votes To Ban Sex Predators From ‘Safety Zones’

TAMPA – Hillsborough County commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance today that would prohibit sexual predators from loitering near libraries, parks and other areas where children congregate.

The “child safety zones” could become effective within a few weeks, officials said. The ban applies to sexual predators, who are the most dangerous class of sex offenders. A search of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement database shows 122 sex predators living in Hillsborough County.

The measure was proposed by Commissioner Ken Hagan (on his way out and already on a watch list) in November and was researched by county attorneys. Hagan said the measure was supported by law enforcement officials, (this impresses me WILDLY) who preferred to create buffer zones rather than increasing residency restrictions, as earlier proposed. (dang the sheriffs office just 'somehow'cleared up a bunch of federal lawsuits, not wanting a whole nother slew of em) Sheriff’s officials feared that if residency restrictions were tightened too much, predators would simply move “underground,” Hagan said. (okay LOL LOL are they admitting they have no control over anything but the obvious??)

(right, I can almost picture that being the reason, can't you? Read my response at the bottom)

If a predator is caught in one of the newly designated “child safety zones,” they will be subject to a $500 fine and up to two months in jail. (and unable to pay and boy isn't this a fine way to keep those cells filled and that money rolling in ....)

The Tampa City Council is scheduled to consider a similar proposal during its meeting on Thursday. (naturally)

I really think the sheriff's reasoning fell more along the lines of being able to 'demand papers' of folks passing through these 'buffer zones'. Some might not be aware this is going on across the country --- and as the Tampa FL Hillsborough County crews watched -- they learned. AND -- the laws concerning where one lives are being challenged in federal courts as unconstitutional. When KY. first passed the laws late last year long-term residents were dragged out of their homes for living in the same place they had always lived. The laws have been passed in several states including Kentucky, Iowa, Georgia and others ... under the guise of safety for the children. Kentucky is one of at least 14 states to recently enact new and tougher buffer zones for convicted sex offenders.

This Hillsborough County law actually takes it a step further. I believe that the sex offender could not be 'driven underground' as the reporting requirements are fairly strict (and therefore this action was ALREADY COVERED) ... but, in effect, this gives the authorit-eyes the ability to question someone for any reason if they are in 'an area where children congregate' COME ON -- there are 122 (out of ONE POINT TWO MILLION) of this dangerous class of sexual predators. How tough can it be? I also object to posting their photos in the library. This is akin to wanted posters in the Wild Wild West.

There are supposedly sexual predators in my neighborhood ... probably part of why they didn't want to buffer them out of there. I heard these guys kept it in the family though, so why are they on a list that can't go to parks? They're a whole different breed of predator. Wouldn't have kept THAT kid safe. At all.

If there is a bomb threat at school, I wouldn't trust them to keep my child safe. I don't trust them without the bomb threats. I don't trust the administration and you can't count on all the teachers to have your child's safety first in mind. I definitely don't trust a bunch of pictures and useless laws to do so.

I wonder whose pictures are NEXT??

Some states post meth-users. Some publicize prostitutes or their johns. Some air the code-enforcement cases. (not here in tampa, that would make it too easy to prove selective code enforcement. HAHAHA) The publicizing then mushrooms from place to place. What's next? Who is next? The person who lets their car get too dirty? Let your insurance lapse? They already tried to make DUI's use a special PINK license plate. How bout you want to borrow the drunk's car?

Pretty soon the only people not on the list of those publicized for 'badness and wrongness' somewhere will be those who have cops, judges and states attorneys in their pocket ... I hope you're following me and not still pissed about your imagining that I am defending the indefensible. I'm defending the right of someone to live within their Constitutional rights.

Tampa is crafty. They ran this right by the people. Some of the people.

Gonna have to roll it back and tear the pictures down. And, we'll have to get a handle on the vigilante bikers, too. Or maybe next they'll be helping the cops demand papers. A new Black Water on Wheels, as it were. Accountable to no one. Oh, and it's nice the bikers have reappeared as the good guys. I guess the meth-slinging days are behind them. Not that I give a damn but a spade is a spade is a spade. Stop pretending you is what you ain't and get on with your bidness and leave citizens the hell out of it.

It is untenable to over punish a person. It is a Classic Niemoller.

Those laws are in keeping with the finest traditions of puritan witch-hunting, mcCarthyism and flat-out Naziism. They capitalize on ignorance,hatred and fear.

The ostracism represented by stigmatizing this broad,sometimes nebulous category of human beings brings to mind double-jeopardy and cruel and unusual punishment,
both of which contradict the bill of rights. It's what good judges are supposed to address. All too often, the damage is done way before the courtroom anyway.

I want to know --- are all the rapists going to be kept away from the gym ? Oh, hell no; they can arrest the lady and the guy together.

Are all the armed robbers kept away from banks or places with cash?

Are all those guilty of crimes against the elderly disallowed from a buffer zone around the nursing homes?

When someone has beaten someone to smithereens with a baseball bat is he still allowed at the ball park?

When you cut someone with a knife are you still allowed in dishware?

What the fuck does any of this posturing DO?

21 Tons Of Cocaine Seized From Vessel

TAMPA – The Tampa-based investigators of “Operation Panama Express” have broken their own record, with the Coast Guard’s seizure of more than 21 tons of cocaine off the coast of Panama.

The Coast Guard announced the seizure today in Washington, in a news release describing how the Coast Guard cutters Hamilton and Almeda intercepted a Panamanian-flagged vessel Gatun on Sunday.

The vessel was spotted by a C-130 maritime patrol aircraft 20 miles southwest of Isla de Coiba, Panama, on Saturday. The guard then received consent from Panama to board the vessel. The boarding team found 42,845 pounds of cocaine hidden in two containers.

The 14 crew members from Panama and Mexico were arrested and are being taken to the U.S. and Panama for prosecution, according to the news release.

Authorities say the load was bound for Mexican drug traffickers.

“This operation is a prime example of interagency teamwork among the DEA, the Coast Guard, and other Homeland Security and Department of Justice components,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff. (LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!) “I also want to commend the Government of Panama for their continued assistance and cooperation. Because of the combined efforts of these federal and international partners, millions of dollars in illegal drugs did not make their way into our homeland and criminal groups were not able reap the huge profits.”

DEA Administrator Karen P. Tandy said, “This record-breaking seizure denied the Mexican drug lords $300 million in drug revenue. This lost drug revenue, combined with last week’s unrelated record-breaking $205 million cash seizure by the Government of Mexico working in partnership with DEA, dealt Mexican traffickers a one-two punch: they’re down more than half a billion dollars in blood money in just 48 hours.”

Previously, the largest cocaine seizure by the Coast Guard was 30,109 pounds from the stateless-vessel Lina Maria, on Sept. 17, 2004, a seizure that also resulted from “Operation Panama Express.”

The Lina Maria was intercepted a few days before investigators boarded the San Jose, carrying an estimated 12 tons of cocaine. Both the Lina Maria and the San Jose were intercepted near the Galapagos Islands.

One of the leading drug traffickers authorities say was behind those two shipments is expected to be extradited soon from Colombia to face trial in U.S. District Court in Tampa.

Wenceslao Caicedo-Mosquera, also known as W, was arrested March 25, 2005, in Ecuador in a joint operation of Panama Express investigators and agents working for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in that country.

In seven years, the multiagency task force has claimed credit for the seizure or destruction at sea of more than 600 tons of cocaine, with a street value of nearly $9 billion, in 173 maritime interdictions. The investigation has led to the arrest of more than 1,250 people, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph K. Ruddy, who said there has been a higher than 96 percent conviction rate.

Last Month, a federal judge sentenced Joaquin Mario Valencia-Trujillo to 40 years in prison, the maximum allowed under an extradition agreement with Colombia. Valencia, a former leader in the notorious Cali Cartel, was the most important capture for Panama Express investigators.

The drug trade has evolved from the days of the powerful cartels to more of a loose confederation of traffickers who work together when it suits their purposes but go it alone when necessary, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Roderick Huff has said.

Great News, however try looking into the government and you will see that at the same time while this ship was going down double that load was entering thru another part of the region. You will never control the drugs coming into the US until you seize control of your own government. Later

My only qualifier: I have more than a few way cool Republican friends. No more than I would cast stones at an entire group of anyone would I say this about every Republican. However, this quote found it's way into my heart and I think every true American knows it aptly describes the current regime and their rabid followers. Most of my Republican friends are staunchly saying they certainly DID NOT vote for him twice. (at least) The good Republicans were sold down the river, with us.

It ain't class, it ain't color, it ain't affiliation - --- it's DECENCY. Either you are or you ain't. End of story.

Given the fact that these assholes like to keep me surrounded and they are filthy and dangerous (because they WANT TO BE) and that the City/County awards them for having such stellar businesses ..... (most of the time they're not legally tagged even) I also find it more than curious that amidst all the other threats they poke at my family (including the veering into my lane by dump trucks and other huge ass implements of death) that I mention this twice in one week and now we have this. The timing is extraordinary. It wouldn't be the first time I caught the Tribune blatantly LYING about a death. Death that didn't even happen. Fake obituaries. Yep, it's true. NO funeral because of NO BODY. Names on demand, yknow. (intimidation comes in many flavors)

In the case that this was your 'random traffic accident' please accept my sincere condolences in your loss. It's a terrible time.

UPDATE: Upon looking at the pictures, this accident looks real enough. I'm sorry for any loss of life and for this family involved but stand by my statements. Before they really got active running me off the interstate they started going to the junkyards (yep collusion with those wrecker types) and dumping off HUGE FOUL wrecks in my neighborhood.) I mean horrifying things that blocked the entire road and tied up traffic and all kinds of crap. First of all and yeah I know it SOUNDS crazy ... their timing is VERY POOR. They would mistime it and I would miss the whole deal. One time, I caught it almost by accident cause I forgot my cell phone. Here's the deal you theatrical folks: They could NOT drop off the SOUND of such a HUGE wreck. I'm definitely not one of the sheeple.

It's sick that we live in an area where people have infiltrated the media to the point that they can get away with publishing lies about deaths and crimes and even obits. The one thing they can't come up with is the body .... this is lack of media oversight and outright COLLUSION. But, when they created Nazi Germany it started out much like this. IF they can control the media they can control YOU.

I hope I'm getting your attention because it's NOT just me. Some people are having this done to them and have NO CLUE. They think it's just bad luck or ...... I don't know what ... but too much has swirled around me for me to be in denial.


Boy dies after SUV pulls into dump truck's path

GIBSONTON - A 9-year-old Tennessee boy died Tuesday morning in a car accident after his mother pulled out in front of a dump truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Anthony Landis of Cowan, Tenn., died at the scene of the accident at Big Bend Road near the entrance ramp to northbound Interstate 75, said Trooper Larry Coggins.

Neither driver was injured, but four passengers were flown to Tampa General Hospital for treatment, Coggins said.

The collision happened at 8:40 a.m., when a 2005 Ford sport utility vehicle driven by Yvonne Landis, 37, of Cowan turned left in front of an eastbound dump truck driven by Jorge Botero, 36, of Temple Terrace, Coggins said.

Troopers said Botero tried to swerve to avoid the collision, but he wasn't able to move in time.

"The evidence is pretty indicative that she made a left turn in front of the other vehicle," Coggins said. "The truck driver had nowhere to go."

Botero was not injured.

There were eight people in an SUV built to hold a maximum of seven, Coggins said. Landis, the driver, was not injured. Also unhurt were Beth Morrison, 37, of Wimauma and Donna Jokinen, 57, of Wimauma, Coggins said.

Heather Simmons, 30, of Cowan was flown to TGH, where she was listed in fair condition, said hospital spokesman John Dunn. Her son, Dillion Hanna, 6, was in critical condition. Her daughter, Nicole Simmons, 4, was listed in good condition.

The driver's son, Brandon Landis, 5, was in critical condition, Dunn said.

Investigators are still trying to figure out where everyone sat inside the SUV. It's also unclear who wore a seat belt. No one was ejected from either vehicle.

Investigators don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, and no charges have been filed.

The entrance ramp was closed immediately after the crash, but reopened by 10 a.m.

The Landis family came to Florida to visit family and friends in Wimauma, Coggins said. Cowan is about an hour northwest of Chattanooga, Tenn.

Botero works in the Gibsonton area. His dump truck was empty at the time of the accident, Coggins said.

I have met many people from the Gold Stars group. They are sincere and direct. The ones whose family members are not yet dead have joined forces with the bereaved to safely bring home young wives, husbands and children and other loved ones. When a military spouse or parent expresses their support for our country in this way -- I respect that. Some of these people sent to war have not voted even once for a President but the acting President has sent them to be sacrificed. For NOTHING.
