I just read this below and wanted to thank you.

Like living in a police state

Good for Pat Manteiga, who doesn't "want to live in a community where we ask women and children to spread their legs and be patted down to see a football game." I experienced this process repeatedly on a recent cross-country flight. Did that make me feel safer? No, it made me feel that I live in a police state.

The problem here is not a need for protection from every risk we can imagine, but public hysteria and widespread gutlessness. We are giving up freedom and civil rights that many Americans have died to protect so we can be "safer." Also, many people are fanning the flames of this fear because they stand to make money and/or gain power by making us feel more "secure." I maintain that all this random, unprofiled patting and searching of ordinary Americans is not going to deter terrorists. Let us hear from more people like Mr. Manteiga and the other Tampa Sports Authority board members who still have some common sense.

What's up with these other Tampa people who are fighting to have us SEARCHED just to see a frickin game? I'm not going to be surprised if someone plants a bomb just to teach us a lesson in 'how to be safe from terrorism'. Good thing there are so many Tampa elites in the sky boxes that if one day they all didn't attend it would be highly suspicious if there were a bomb threat that day. I'm sick and tired of peoples' need to control things. Subverting everything American because they were spanked too much when they were little or something. What?? What could be the reason for this??? Honestly. It's very sinister.

OR --- it's very lucrative ?? Maybe a kickback from a contract for the searches? Then one day they can take them all private and plant things on people so they can do some more selective searching and arresting and prosecuting?? LOL.

OF course !!!! That's the Tampa style.
