Look in that mirror, look into those eyes ... CHANGE THAT person.

I can't help the crime that has been done but I know as many black people who have helped as hurt. Ditto for the whites. Ditto for latinos.

It ain't a race thing, boys and girls.

There's enough going on in the world. It's on fire and some people unable to see past skin.


Cathy took my idea in a way. I've been itching to start a dialogue on race but not quite in this fashion. Plus, there's a time factor. I'm proud of her. She just labeled herself wrongly. She's a person who has been f'd with and she's struggling with the hurt .... she'd have felt the same if it were a white kid. Changes your perspective when you have to live with it if you're not careful. I'm really careful or I'd hate a bunch of people.... It's time to talk about it but not in the same old way. Come ON .... we can do better than that.

It's a decency thing. You are decent? Great, sit by me. You a sneaky motherfucker? Move on. I don't care how green your eyes are.

I used to say that it would be cool if 'aliens' attacked and see how quickly the asshole humans would unite and forget hair, skin, beliefs .... it would be cool.

Whatever you believe in or whomever or even if you believe in no one you are doing the world a dis-favor by continually holding racist beliefs.
You make a small start. It's with yourself. Don't point to roads and buildings and schools. We're trying hard to make the government work for ALL OF US.
Make that small start and address each person with respect and love. Don't give in to the government dividing you. They breed hate and division in order to TAKE from us. Setting up programs to fix this and that when we have ears and mouths on our own working wonders .....

It just amazes me with the world on fire, bush swaggering around waving his sword and illegal wars rampant and --- somewhere today in Boston is a father mourning a child he loves who was killed on Mother's Day.

Can't you see past yourself ???

I've had this conversation with at least a gazillion black men and women. Unless they are all fucking liars they agree that it's NOT race, it's decency.

When my son was born one of the first people who held him in her arms was a black chick, friend of my sister's. While she was sitting there, tears rolled down her face .... I was like.. "oh you must love babies ..."

"No", she said as she looked up at me, "I've never touched a white person before."

(not never held a white baby -- never touched a white person before)

Imagine that.

Made me cry, too. I touch everyone. I hug everyone. I love everyone.

I gave her a big hug and she visited from time to time til I moved. Lost track of her.

I hope she hugs a lot more white people. She seemed to enjoy it.

Me? I don't even notice what frickin shade you are. Oh, yeah ... she's one of many people who related to me about the varying shades of black skin color and how they diss each other. I was kinda astonished. But, I'm just as astonished by the x's girlfriend who told me quite pointedly that I played checkers WRONG. Black people play them differently.
Somewhere in here is a lesson: Not all black people are stealing --- not all white people like me ---

We need to love each other. And play checkers together. And hold each others' children. And vouch for each other. And stop believing that I have something you don't have. Been to HCC lately??? Find a white person on staff there. Nope. Not too damned many of them.

And, yknow what? The school is going downhill educationally because when the 'superior race' took over .... they started cheating. And, they've been caught.

And one day, those assholes are going to be responsible for your life.

But, I've met white doctors who should be shot, too. But they have no excuses.

I'll repeat the good part:

We need to love each other. And play checkers together. And hold each others' children. And vouch for each other. And hug each other. And accept each other. We're well on our way so ... stop letting a city-sanctioned gang activity steal YOUR LOVE for one another !!
