We don't have cable. Yeah, stone ages. NOPE. I have canceled cable more times than I can remember. They send the hottest guy/gal in Florida to talk you out of it. Yep. And, he IS hot. I still cancel. I've known enough hot guys. I'm dispassionate; looks aren't really my thing. I'm just pointing out the duplicity of BrightHouse. Every now and then when I pass by and see the SAME mtv or the same old movie rerun over and over and over again I say .. you know, that can't lead anywhere but to stale minds. Out the door the cable goes. A year or so will pass and I'll reconsider cable for one reason or another (been over three years this time, I think -- they're at the point of begging LOL)
Maybe if I were stricter I'd make the History channel mandatory viewing but truth to tell I don't have time to sit down and watch everything to be sure it's not revisionist history and I quite simply LOATHE tv.
But, we leave the TV on during the day for our babies. They like the voices and sometimes actually like to watch the idiot box and yes, I DO worry about their minds becoming stale. Nonetheless, it's a habit to turn it on when we start getting ready to go and so, sometimes if you sit still long enough like a frigging glue trap you get caught up in something.
Today I watched this lesbian biracial couple lie their way to a favorable verdict on Judge David Young. I didn't watch every word of it but at the beginning I was on the tenant's side and at the end it was obvious they were lying.
If you read here you already know I LOATHE tv, far worse than that is ANY reality show with 'the next top model' 'hogan knows best' and others topping the list. I've never SEEN hogan knows best. I loathe it in anticipation.
I reserve a special antipathy for "tv justice'. This era seems to have been ushered in by the OJ trial and by Maury Povich (if you haven't seen bobby lee do connie chung you NEED TO)

Well, since we don't have cable there are not so many choices besides 'justice tv' and etc. Suits me just fine because I don't care if the tv is ever turned on. Leads to some messy human interaction with the family (LOL) and to ... oh my GOD, reading. We actually READ. Yep. And watch some awesome DVD's and vids. It's really good. You should try it for kicks.

So, today Judge David Young (justice with a snap) not only offers to run your DNA for you if you are confused about which kids are yours but he dispenses opinions of your veracity or lack thereof and his 'bailiff', a young black woman rolls her eyes and makes her displeasure or skepticism well-known to the tv 'courtroom'.
This, of course, is highly illegal.
And, just like I've mentioned with cell-phone voting for American Idol soon being the way to vote your errrr progressive (LOL) President into office; this is the way justice will be dispensed. We're pretty close to it now. Kangaroo courts abound. In many instances you can pay an off-duty judge to hear your case. Gee, I'm sure there wouldn't be any favoritism when YOU are PAYING THE JUDGE. What do you think??
Anyway, old Judge David Young, justice with a snap and his bailiff taught some segment of America today that RACISM 101 means that apparently you can no longer say 'some of my best friends are black.'. That' RACIST. Huh.
This joins a LONG LIST of racist words or phrases and some other nutty shit as espoused by Russell Simmons who wants nigger, ho and bitch removed from rap songs. Because it's especially derogatory to African American women. As he states. How's that??? How is HO more derogatory towards a black than a white woman? Same with bitch. AND, people can name their puppy palaces High Class Bitch and that's okay.
HUH.
Update: He's joined in this plea for 'decent rap' by Louis Farakkhan. Hmm. Because I thought that Mr. Freedom for the people would not be advocating CENSORSHIP. Disappointingly he's also joined by Will Smith. Who interjects that black Americans should worry that what the rest of the world knows about Bback America is their rap. What about white rappers? Why is it that it's not just recognized as AN INDUSTRY? Rap is an industry. It's not about black and white. Like hip-hop wanting to jump up and change the conversation for the blacks. What about the white hip hop artists? People ... I'm telling you -- you do NOT want to go where you're headed. In the most perfect country in the world ---- with love healing all wounds -- why the sudden ignorance?? I think WE KNOW WHY.
Well, what about if you have black relatives? IS IT now racist to say .. "some of my family members are black?" Or, "some of my black family members are my friends."
It's a purposeful and absolutely HATEFUL confusion of what one person is allowed to say that another person may perceive as painful. Which either of them could be misleading in their intent. Just to start some where there ain't none. I knew this was going on when I watched local writers try to ramp it up. I'm watching it in the media. I'm listening to it on tv.
Well, I'm still going to say that some of my best friends are black. So, yeah go ahead and put me in that long, long painful list of racist bitches that you know.

I've spent a lifetime in three generations of a family with not the first bias against anything besides meanness and stupidity.
Most of the people I know are the same as me.
In fact, I've unwittingly angered people for not having the same ill ideas as they have towards blacks, italian, latin, cuban, puerto rican, spanish folks. Through those groups there exists a LOT of hate and bias. In Tampa you will hear the anger of the spanish because they grew up around the blacks and they are considered more black than white. BY WHOM? I always ask. Most people I know don't waste time on that crap. It's such bullshit.
Driving the O-train of hatred and division of the races. Race, in my opinion, is not even a word that should be used. It makes no sense. But, I never heard much of it until the O-O train made it's way through the mainstream propaganda machine.
AND, I live in FLORIDA. Apparently home to many racists. I've seen VERY LITTLE Of that. I do see blacks and whites together all the time. Always. I also see them and other cultures running very successful criminal enterprises.
And, let me just close with saying that some of my best friends are black.
