Sinkhole snarls Tampa intersection
TAMPA -- A 3-foot sinkhole has prompted officials to block off a section of road at 131st Avenue and N Ola Avenue. The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office is directing traffic around the area as they await county maintenance workers to help determine a course of action for repair.

Pinellas paramedic arrested on crack cocaine possession charge
ST. PETERSBURG -- A Pinellas paramedic has been suspended from his job after his arrest this weekend on a charge of possessing crack cocaine.
Alvin P. Natal, 54, a paramedic for Sunstar, was arrested Sunday on a charge of cocaine possession. A St. Petersburg police officer pulled Natal over Sunday afternoon after he made an illegal right turn in the area of 18th Avenue S and 34th Street, police reports state. Natal told the officer he had crack cocaine in his car and handed over one piece of crack, reports state. Natal told the officer he had bought the crack cocaine for $10 to feed a once-a-week habit, reports state.
Sunstar officials issued a statement saying they had suspended Natal after his arrest. He is the second Sunstar paramedic to be arrested on a felony charge in the past month. On July 2, paramedic Patrick Livingston, 38, was arrested on a sexual battery charge.
Livingston is accused of assaulting a female patient en route to the hospital, arrest reports state.
