TAMPA — Last year, Lee Louis Myers' description of a locker room incident involving a flag football teammate and a hockey stick landed him and three other Walker Middle School students in big trouble.
On Thursday, a prosecutor who once accused Myers, 15, of sexual battery changed her tune and credited him with helping officials unravel what happened.
"But for Lee Myers, the whole truth of this incident may not have come out," Assistant State Attorney Kimberly Hindman said.
His reward: The Hillsborough State Attorney's Office reduced his charges Thursday to felony battery and will drop the case against him entirely if he fulfills terms of a pretrial intervention agreement.
The deal includes speaking to his peers about the adverse effects of hazing and bullying and testifying truthfully against the remaining two defendants.
Raymond Price-Murray, 15, and Diemante J. Roberts, 16, still face four counts each of sexual battery. The victim in the case said they used a broom handle and hockey stick to assault him while Randall John Moye III and Myers held him down.
Moye, 15, pleaded guilty in February to one count of felony battery. He will receive juvenile sanctions in exchange for his testimony. Hindman said prosecutors decided to allow Myers to enter a pretrial diversion program instead because he did not participate in the attacks as many times as Moye.
Prosecutors had already dropped two of the four counts of sexual battery against Myers after his attorneys proved he was at baseball practice when some of the alleged attacks occurred. The victim told authorities he was attacked as many as 12 times in the locker room in spring 2009.
Hindman said it was Myers' words, not the victim's, that gave school officials the first hint of potential sexual abuse.
After being approached by coaches, Myers wrote a half-page statement in May 2009 describing one episode.
"We decided to have some fun," he wrote, "but we weren't trying to hurt him or anything like that."
Myers said Roberts grabbed a hockey stick in the locker room and "told us what to do." He said the other three agreed.
When they approached the victim, "he automatically fell to the ground," Myers wrote. "I held his arms while Raymond helped me. R.J. and Diemante started hitting him in the butt with the hockey stick. It only lasted for about 15-20 seconds, then we all stopped and walked away.
"After it happened, I walked up and said we were just playing around and didn't mean to hurt his feelings," Myers wrote.
On Thursday, defense attorney Tim Taylor said dozens of witnesses had been deposed since Myers and the others were charged with felonies in adult court.
"Not one of the eyewitnesses has implicated Lee Myers in this case," Taylor said.
Taylor emphasized that his client's not guilty plea stands. The agreement with the state also calls for a psychological evaluation, 50 hours of community service and no contact with the victim or remaining defendants.
"Lee Myers and his family are ready to turn the page on this and move on," Taylor said. "Ultimately, all of the charges against Lee Myers are going to be dismissed."
Myers did not speak during the hearing.
The victim and his family chose not to attend at all. Hindman said they were aware of the resolution and agreed with it.

Now they will make 1 person the fall guy so that they can look good. Our justice system is smoke and mirrors.

This is one of the saddest cases I have heard in a long time. Each of these boys who were involved with this cruel and heartless attack should all receive the same sentence for their crime and the parents of these boys should allow the justice system to make the call on their punishment. They obviously need mental health evaluations and counseling At the age these boys were they knew right from wrong and should be held responsible. The victim unfortunately, will have to live with this for the rest of his life. My heart breaks for him.

It would have been around the school in seconds. kids that age text'd and facebook everything. it would not have been hidden for a few months... I am not saying the victim was not raped. I don't know, but there has been no DNA evidence to confirm a rape, and there has been conflicting stories to include everyone was horsing around and the victim was laughing.. So it would only be fair to weigh that in along with any phyical evidence or lack of. No one can say guilty just because they have been charged. and why would he get off on only 50 hours community service if it was such a horrible crime? think about it.. the state can't prove any of the crimes would be my guess... Now everyone can call me names and act unreasonable, it doesn't bother me..

They need therapy to learn to play more appropriately. Sexual offender therapy can be effective when the criminal chooses to embrace change.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL - Hillsborough undercover detectives say they've snared 33 gang members along with cocaine, cash, weapons, cars and much more in 'Operation Under Pressure.'
The investigation, which began in late 2008, targeted gang activity in the Progress Village and Palm River areas of the county, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Narcotics detectives conducted drug transactions with local gang members. They say the probe uncovered a criminal organization that was importing millions of dollars in drugs into the U.S. from Mexico.
The operation identified "certified street gangs" including:
- Latin Life - Progress Village Boys - Palm River Boys - 8 Deuce Click - 58th Street Boys
The street value of the drugs seized is put at $2.5 million.
More arrests are expected.

So far I've hooked him up with theft of taxpayer funds.

Scraping the filth off some kid involved in the walker middle school rape.

AND hiding his name while he slips around making purchases for the City of Tampa.

Oh and his own kid being let off the hook.

No links for now.

I'm kinda stunned.

Imagine lurking around like that and having a NEWSPAPER
COVERING FOR YOU.

Blanks and Charges

Okay, tell me if this sounds mercenary. I'm leaving out names and identities for now, and even some words to protect those who frankly don't deserve protection but having never been a RAT (like some) I just don't feel good about spilling people's filthy sides of their lives onto the WWW...

However -- (you knew this was coming, right??) -- I'm willing to disclose same for a fee. In fact, I'm going to disclose some of this in a book which will definitely be for sale very soon but if you'd like to know if your name or some similar aspect that identifies your smarmy and illegal acts towards me and my family have been mentioned I'd be happy to negotiate a fee with you. For the record, save your pennies if I've known you longer than thirty years. Out of respect for you and your family I'll leave your names out. Out of respect for you and your family I have remained silent. Apparently this same respect was not inbred in you. That's a pity but you and yours are safe with me. The ones who took it upon themselves to do your bidding against an innocent family are wide open just like they've left MY family wide open. Herewith I refer to my extended family and network many of whom are currently suffering at your hands. Be on notice.

In my living room watching;
but I am not laughing ....

..... risk something, take back what's yours
say something that you know they might attack you for
cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before ....

Meanwhile, the leader just talks away
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay
And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day

In their living room laughing like,

"what did he say?"

Contrary to popular belief:

Patience is NOT a virtue.

It is concentrated strength.

About Me

ANYWHERE, ANYWHERE LOL, United States
I was born a citizen of the world and have remained such but along with that: I'm a long time Tampa resident. Mixed bag at that as I've seen life here from nearly all angles and while somewhere in there I became slightly indoctrinated, I'm not too proud of the way people have taken over this city and run it with an iron fist for all but some. This city is working hard on creating just two classes. Thems and them dont's and they are working hard to shove some families down into the gutter for reasons known only to them. Some might be as petty as jealousy, some might be politically motivated, some might just be stupid and all are wrong. I want to believe we can get better but that would entail some stuff that I have no control over. I only can control myself and my reactions to what occurs.
