For Mom: MY Mom, Your Mom, YOU,
Us here at voxpopuli lost our Mama way way way too soon. She was too young, we were too young.
Had a big shindig for this marvel of a specimen of feminine humanity who was dad and mom to so many:
People filled the rooms with flowers and words, the religious fellow spoke awhile, people sent letters which were read aloud, other 'children' called in on the speaker-phone to be heard.
Everyone waited for me, figuring that I (as usual) would have the words to say.
Myself: ruminated for over a month what to say, what to say on this singular, water-shed occasion.
Stepped forward ----
About my Mom:
My Mom did EVERYTHING for me.
Everyone in the room knew this great lady. There was no reason to expound.
We miss you.
Not a day goes by ......................
Glad you are in good company.
For all you Moms and all you kids who have an empty spot today: it's okay.
Happy Mother's Day from and to, if you fail to hear it, I will say it.
Some believe that parents --- (imperfect while they are here, like every parent) ---
go to 'the great beyond' and then guide us forevermore in the perfection that we need.
I had an epiphany while viewing the Canadian forest on the way to see my best friend.
When the trees die, there are SO MANY TREES (this is canada where they respect their environment, unlike looted American forests (thanks george) and remodeled by fire, Florida....
Anyway, when the trees die, they can't even FALL because the trees are so thick that the live ones keep the dead ones standing upright.
And, that's how I got the picture straight. If your Mom is missing .... here's the deal: NO, she's not. She's right here. Always. It's a contract we sign.
Oh and to Barbara and Laura Bush: Get the murderous cabal in line as any decent, self-respecting woman would do.
G and P and P. You know me. No need to expound.
Miss you.

And for the parents and children, loved ones and friends of the Virginia Tech students and those who are missing the family member who was not a student ... I'm thinking of you here today. I'm sure many others are, too.

Oh, and while this post SHOULD remain on top all day it probably won't. I have some vaguely interesting reportage to cover on some people whose mother is not done proud. (tampa fh 8)
