Blurring it to Grey if you will

There has (after all) been one UNdisputed King of America and he probably paid with his life for being a uniter. All told, I understand it's better for your health to be a hateful divider but it's better for your HEART and SOUL to be a uniter of the people. Love your enemies and alla that. This ain't IT, folks. I'm no holy-roller and certainly no angel (smile) but I have some angelic qualities and I have a witness to the fact that God does indeed exist. More on that another time if you're lucky. It's a good (true, verifiable) story. Which is what people just DON"T GET about me. I'm not running on the same track as you. It all looks different from where I'm standing, but I'm not the only one. You got the whole rat race going on and I'm just the kid at the end of the hall holding up the mirror as you race by. Whatever you believe to be the truth as far as a 'greater power' go ahead and up your faith a notch. It's there. I've seen it. Right along-side a completely independent, unshakable witness.

But, on to the KING. And don't try to pretend that this isn't what brought it for EVERYONE. There are others and I won't leave them off the list .. BBKing. .. well, the list is NOT what I'm here for. (today)

When Mac Davis could have sat down and written ANYTHING, he chose to write about the poverty in America. When Elvis could have recorded anything, this is what he chose. I had no choice really but to have affection for Elvis. My older sister played his records while I was in the womb. Elvis put it all on the table for all of us. There are still people writing about the poverty in America, the nightmarish turmoil this administration has caused and the need to keep blurring it to grey.

Your light will still shine but what we need to do is just see people when we look around us. Not the differences but the samenesses. We're all rowing the same boat. I don't feel like blogging much today because it's a special day in my family so I'm listening to some music, trying to remember not to hate people (like the stalkers) even though I have every right to deal antipathy towards those who try to steal my property and my peace of mind .. I say, "LOVE everyone." Love your enemies. Love them. It's a mark of character and strength. Kindness is power.

No one in my family and tons and tons of people I know or am acquainted with ever saw a black face; we saw souls and eyes. All of us. Just change if you're seeing more than that. Just be different. You'll be happier, I swear.

Here's elvis and something else. Actually -- two elvises. One for my beloved sister who gave him to me in the first place. Geez I still have all the albums she had. Dinero out the yang I guess for those. Not a chance I'd ever part with them. I haven't seen them for awhile myself. Deep storage.

She was pretty damn cool. She'd have liked blogging; she had something to say, yknow? So, I'll say it for her when I can.

Anyway, I have always got a corner of my mind on the people who did so much to blur the differences between people that some try to cling to. Every now and then a light comes along.

I put this one because there's a strong family resemblance here to someone I love very much in these pictures. Never noticed it before. With the rain in my shoes ......... (not too many feelings better than that)

OH, check the drummer. This might be the hottest drummer on my view-master-o-sphere. Damn.

UPDATE: Nice when someone else gets it, too. Cute lil Lisa Presley sure gets it if anyone does ......... what a voice. I guess she's trying hard to make it her own way because with that voice by now she should be a mega-star. Watch and see. I saw her on late-nite not long back and liked her but her voice got overwhelmed by the sound. Wonder why. She's got a voice that's stand-alone. I keep remembering that but today took a minute to check her out. Here's an interesting one:
